The mileage or range that EVs can achieve is increasing notably each year on the back of advances in battery tech. This article suggests that consumers are now delaying purchase of a new EV and waiting for the next big leap in range. The range that many EVs already have easily covers the typical daily commute and usage needs of most consumers. With EV charging available in every home and an ever expanding network of fast chargers it’s interesting that people are delaying purchase based on range alone. Six weeks into my EV journey: a) I can easily do a round trip from Leeds to Leicester without recharging! b) I did have to recharge from public infrastructure when we travelled to Sussex (from Leeds). Although actually the reality is we did have to stop for food and toilet breaks (human and dog) on the outward and homebound journeys, so whilst sorting these necessities took advantage of both Ionity and BP Pulse charging stations to top up. c) I have never suffered from range anxiety. d) My home Rolec charger and iPhone Ev.Energy app sort charging out for me once a week (up to 80%) overnight when my E.On tariff is 8p/KWh. I don't miss having to visit a petrol station. e) I often find an excuse to temporarily put my foot down to accelerate past something :-) Wow! f) When I set regen to the max, one pedal driving is cool (not lazy)! g) I'm still at the 'have to clean the car inside and out' once a week stage of ownership. #electriccars #electricvehicles #evcharging #sustainability #netzero #ev #electric

Can you find a ICE vehicle from my Ioniq 6? This is snap from my commute this morning in Sugar Land, TX and not CA. 3 Teslas on the right and a Fisker Ocean in front of me. A decade+ of change . My first EV was a Leaf in 2011 and with hardly any EVs on the road. Now, I see them with increasing frequency even in TX. Irrespective of slight slowdown in adoption rate, I see the EV trend is already set in motion. We just need 3 more things to accelerate: a) Low cost b) Better charging infrastructure c) V2G and V2H to improve the value proposition All happening but maybe not fast enough
