⏳ Redefining Recovery Timelines in MSK Care Clinical recovery should be measured in months or even years, not days. In the U.S., the average episode of care lasts 6 weeks—barely enough time to initiate physiological rebuilding. Most changes in the first 6 months are neurophysiological, where symptom behavior shifts before anatomical adaptations occur. The ALS Network has worked with groups of neurologists and researchers from around the country, including people with ALS and their caregivers, to launch an ongoing study that seeks to establish medical standards and guidelines for in-home care for #ALS. An article published by the National Library of Medicine covers an important early step in the process to develop an expert consensus-based ALS home health medical standard guidance document, in collaboration with the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
