AI job market is rising in SA – here’s a look at the most in-demand AI jobs: Artificial Intelligence is starting to be more commonly integrated into the business world of South Africa, resulting in an increase in AI job positions. This is according to the February 2024 Pnet Job Markets Trends Report. The report states that there has been a rise in demand for AI specialists and professionals, following the integration of AI in SA businesses and in over the past five years, there are has been a 182% increase in AI vacancies. South African job hotspots Data from the report shows that in Gauteng there is a 63% demand for AI employees, followed by the Western Cape with 19%. In KwaZulu-Natal there is a 3% demand for AI jobs and a further 8% demand for AI work opportunities that don’t have a specific geographic location. AI positions in the SA job market An analysis of the South African job market over the last 12 months has revealed that most of the AI job opportunities are IT-related. Here are the most in-demand AI jobs: * data scientist (29%) * data analyst (24%) * data engineer (16%) * software developer (11%) * machine learning specialist (9%) * business analyst (4%) * sales professional (4%) * IT architect (3%) Skills that AI candidates need According to the report, AI job candidates need to have strong skills in programming, data science, statistics and machine learning. Hi Linkedin, We’re hiring an Analytics Engineer that will take a central part in the A.I. development process, and I wanted to take the time to answer what it takes to be a successful Data Expert at Aidoc? It’s a question I get asked a lot, and it’s a question I ask myself all the time. I want to always make sure we're accurately emphasizing the right skills in the hiring process, and that we're developing our people in the optimal directions. This is a highly unique role - Aidoc's Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers are paving the way for methodologies and practices in the domain of dataset development for A.I. So - What makes a Data Expert at Aidoc succeed in her role? To answer that, we need to understand the challenges with the data we're working with.  Medical imaging and textual data is tough and unforgiving.  For example, medical imaging has HUGE variations between different scanners, scanning protocols, patient characteristics, and medical centers. It's very complicated to interpret, and each scan can have multiple "different" ground truths, depending on the radiologist who's calling the shots. That is why, developing an AI algorithm with ~80% recall in a controlled environment is difficult, but developing an AI algorithm with 90%+ recall on REAL data is insane. We have to understand, what's difficult for the radiologist to detect, might also be difficult for the algorithm.  Therefore, the top decile of findings could be where we could save patients’ lives.  Every improvement here is CRITICAL. At Aidoc, we’re looking for analytics engineers that want to take a central part in reimagining and executing core methodologies in the AI development process, and want to work shoulder-to-shoulder with one of the strongest A.I.
