Glad to inform that I am promoted to the post of "National Sales Manager". This is a dream-come-true moment for me. There is a saying that the person who doesn’t get a job anywhere often ends up in sales. I chose sales as my professional career, and the person who brought me into this field was my elder brother, Mahesh Dattani. He worked throughout his life in the stationery industry, mostly in writing instruments. I need to mention a few names that contributed significantly to shaping me into the person I am today. 1. My first job was at Mital Sales (distributor for P&G). The owner, Kantibhai Shah, taught me some true lessons about life. Mr. Sunil Haribal from P&G worked with me in retail market and taught me core sales skills, including market operations. We launched Whisper at that time. 2. Next, I worked for Parle Products Limited (PCP division). I must acknowledge my immediate boss, Mr. Ashish Kamat, and our Marketing Head, Mr. Nandu Rajadhyax, who greatly inspired me to improve continuously. 3. I joined Navneet in 1996. First, I want to mention Mr. Jagdeep Kapoor, MD of Samsika Marketing Consultant, who taught me the role of systems in sales and the importance of clarity in vision. Next is Jitubhai Gala (Baba Sheth), the king of marketing at Navneet, and J.K. Sampat, who emphasized that there’s no substitute for hard work and your success depends on how do you build and maintain relationship in business. I learned how to organize myself and manage multiple bosses from Nagpur Branch Manager Surendra Ankolekar. Last but important, my boss Shailendra Gala, a man of perfection, taught me many valuable management skills. I could achieve my targets thanks to the sales team, all distributors, and their team members. I also acknowledge the support of all office staff and colleagues in other departments, as I firmly believe that an individual can win a match, but a Team wins a championship.

SALES VOLUME Manage your area to deliver monthly target set for your area. Ensure Area performance growth in Volume. CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT Ensure distributors performance growth in Volume. Ensure range selling to distributors/channel partners. Establish, maintain and expand your customer base in the defined coverage territory/channel. Ensure proper management of distributors / channel partner account(s). Ensure zero debt ratios in all dealings. Communicate monthly target / objective to distributors/channel partners in coverage area. Monitor performance of your distributors/channel partners and prepare weekly performance report. Improve service delivery, manage relationship and open vibrant communication channels with trade partners. Ensure that FIFO principle is strictly adhered to in all customer outlets in your area. Ensure that products are stored properly in approved warehouse/stores and at the right stack-level. Such that products are not exposed to elements that will jeopardize quality standards. Keep up to date with products and competitor’s activities and report same to General Manager regularly.
