Since a lot of people were interested about my experience with the Tibetan Community and Tibetan Buddhism through the Gurkul Fellowship by the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness the Dalai Lama - I wrote a small piece on Medium, reflecting on my experiences with Tibetan Art, Culture, Politics and Buddhism as an extended version of my earlier post on Linkedin. It's nothing fancy, just a bunch of deconstructed thoughts regurgitated in MS Word at a random cafe in Delhi. If it mildly piques your interest - I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐚 - 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐦 - 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐆𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐔𝐏...𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 I always like to think outside the box. In such a situation one day I was thinking about Sugriva and Bali, two important characters of Ramayana. After thinking deeply, I realized that Rama's banishment was necessary for the righteous and virtuous Sugriva to regain his old empire. As we all know Bali did various tricks to enthrone and established himself on the throne of Sugriva which was completely illegal and immoral. Sugriva being weak at that time due to more force and troops was forced to admit his defeat. Later, when Rama goes into exile and Sita is abducted by Ravana as a result of this exile, this turns out to be very good for Sugriva. Had Sita not been abducted, Rama would never have felt the need to raise an army to rescue Sita. And if there was no need to form an army then even a tyrant like Bali would never have been killed by Rama. Through this incident we understand that everything happens for a reason. Rama's exile was certainly sad for Rama but very hopeful for Sugriva. Similarly many events happen in our life which we don't understand the right answer at the time. But later when we reach the final result we realize how much that particular event was necessary for our life. So don't be particularly upset about anything in life. Take any situation in stride and try to find something to come out of it. #motivation #inspiration #life #career

Today (September 23) marks the beginning of a new presidency. According to the election results, if it applied to a parliamentary election, AKD would secure 105 seats, SP would get 78, RW would obtain 37, NR would get one, and the Tamil independent candidate would receive 4 seats, as per Manthri.lk. This indicates that the NPP’s first task is to gain more public support by addressing the suspicions many people have on NPP and finding effective mechanisms to engage the Muslim and Tamil communities across the island, seeking their active participation in our development agenda. Some might argue that due to current trends, more people will vote for NPP in the next election. However, it is crucial to support AKD’s development agenda not just out of favoritism but by recognizing the strong reasons to back his key promises, such as tackling corruption, enhancing transparency, and reducing public expenditure by minimizing wastage and mismanagement. It appears that many more reforms are on his agenda, as they should be. Although I am not deeply involved in politics, I am ready to offer my full support and strong commitment to the new president. We have witnessed the challenges within our government system compared to other governments, and we have a better understanding of private sector corruption and the misuse of grants and loans from bilateral and multilateral donors. Many of these loans have been directed to the government and the private sector for various development needs without proper tracking of their contributions to our economy to repay those loans. This country belongs to us, not to a politician (do not misunderstand) who comes to power for four or five years. So, let's help AKD and his team make a significant shift in our direction, aiming to elevate our country to the level of at least Thailand ($7000 per capita GDP) as the first step, with Malaysia and Singapore being longer-term goals. Let’s focus more on digitalization, despite potential resistance from government bureaucrats who may feel threatened by the exposure of their inefficiencies and corruption. While wholeheartedly congratulating the new president, Let’s pledge our full commitment to him and his team for any positive initiatives they undertake. All the best! The dream we have nurtured for centuries is finally coming true. This achievement is not the result of any single person’s work, but the collective effort of hundreds of thousands of you. Your commitment has brought us this far, and for that, I am deeply grateful. This victory belongs to all of us. Our journey here has been paved by the sacrifices of so many who gave their sweat, tears, and even their lives for this cause. Their sacrifices are not forgotten. We hold the scepter of their hopes and struggles, knowing the responsibility it carries. The millions of eyes filled with hope and expectation push us forward, and together, we stand ready to rewrite Sri Lankan history. This dream can only be realized with a fresh start. The unity of Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, and all Sri Lankans is the bedrock of this new beginning. The New Renaissance we seek will rise from this shared strength and vision. Let us join hands and shape this future together!

"Angels and Fairies in Nagaland" I am hoping that, though this is a different era, the book will be read with interest as a historical narration of what was done for the people by the government. The book will allow an interest to be developed in the present status of Nagaland and changes, if any. Moreover, learning how not seeing eye to eye can lead to upheaval, sacrifices, wins, and losses, but also in people’s lives and the Nation. The book is an extensive narration of the conditions in Nagaland. Thoroughly exploring all aspects — political, religious, geographical, and cultural — of this region, it assembles a gallery of colorful portraits of the people dealt with, resulting in a picture of one part of India few know about, including the Western world. Educational and inspirational, the book sheds light on the problems that beset the region.

The impulse is to completely downplay your Tamas and have Sattva and Rajas reign supreme. However, even Tamas has a role to play. Sometimes, you have take a step back on your professional journey and reflect over it. To watch it from a distance without being too attached to it. That said, to triumph in the professional sphere, balancing your Sattva and Rajas can take you a long way lined with growth, knowledge, goals and achievements. The key is to listen to your inner voice, to tap into it and to know that now is the time to recenter, refocus and get back on track. #Chinmayamission #Swamiswaroopananda #Sattva #Rajas #Knowledge #Focus #Tamas
