WEEK 2 - Traits that a researcher must have 👨🔬 👨🔬On my insightful journey in IISc Bangalore, the second week was more focused on the traits that a researcher must possess Firstly I need to clarify one thing People around, especially in the civil engineering field are sticking towards the monthly salary works and expecting to work for someone yeah its completely good we can get paid and life will be settled. (For those who want to be in the research field) But when we turn the cube around and see the other perspective is there the real power arises and it is named "RESEACHER" sounds so dramatic right let me be clear Civil engineers are those who need to create an impact in society "we are the ones who directly connect with the people and nature". "THE MORE IMPACT WE CREATE THE MORE WE GET VALUED BY THE SOCIETY AND INDIRECTLY IT WILL PAY YOU MORE" I didn't experience these things but I am living with people who have created impact and yet to do more. They are the people with high value to create some valuable impact by their research and the papers they publish which creates a standard for other researchers who are yet to refer to it and develop it. Common traits that I observed: 👨🔬 1. observe observe observe .... no it's not a typing error we need to observe a lot. 2. Need to remember many things so need to improve the memory a lot. 💡 3. Need to apply every science that we learn with simple day-to-day examples. 🏹 4. Focus and awareness - If we are doing a simple measurement it must be done with full focus and awareness. 🏹 5. Accuracy - Here we can't even see the word approximation we should take every value accurately. 🔍 Regards to the people who are molding me every day!!! Lot more to explore and a lot more to learn. I have been greatly appreciative of the opportunity given to me at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. As an intern, I have learned how to utilize Python to perform simulations of molecular structures and movement. I as challenged to learn how to use equipment which was unfamiliar for me. I learned how to problem solve in regards to chemical engineering. Most importantly, I have learned how to work with others on a scale I have not seen before. The necessity for engineers with different backgrounds to brainstorm for a solution to a problem, was unparalleled in my career. Moving forward, I will be able to utilize this experience throughout the rest of my career. How I look at problems has completely changed, as well as how I plan on solving the said problems. In the sight of computation chemical engineering, I will be utilizing these skills to improve my ability to comprehend and understand how different molecules interact with each other. In the future, I see myself growing my skills in computation chemical engineering, as this internship has made me reconsider what skill I would like to learn for my career. I'm excited to share my experience as a Data Science Intern at Tata Steel, Jamshedpur! During my internship, I focused on a project to predict the mechanical properties of steel rebars using machine learning. Here's a glimpse of what I accomplished: Data wrangling: I prepped and transformed data to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis. This involved handling missing values, identifying inconsistencies, and feature engineering. Unveiling hidden insights: By analyzing the data, I discovered significant relationships between various factors and the strength of steel rebars. These insights can be valuable for optimizing production processes and ensuring consistent material quality. Building predictive models: I developed models to predict key steel rebar properties.
