I’m sure you’ve seen the videos where someone takes a picture of themselves every day for years and edits them together to show how that person has, or has not, changed over time. One of my patients, who is 70 years young, did just that! Normally, when you’re in the midst of the healing process, the last thing on your mind is taking more pictures. However, as the third and final sister in her family to undergo a facelift, she was familiar with the process and knew exactly what to expect. Seeing multiple family members go through the healing process altered her perception of it. From the outside, many view the healing process as a challenge to endure before emerging on the other side. As the third family member to have a facelift, she saw it as an opportunity to learn and document her journey. Having observed her sisters’ experiences, she knew what to expect and felt comfortable documenting every step, confident that the results she wanted were just a few months away. Her procedure plan included: ✅ Preservation Deep Plane Facelift ✅ Endoscopic Temporal Brow Lift ✅ Lower Blepharoplasty (Eyelids) ✅ CO2 Facial Laser Resurfacing She took selfies every day during the first 60 days of her recovery. After that, we recorded her progress during follow-up appointments at our practice. The final shots in the video were taken six months after her procedure, by which time she was nearly fully healed. If you’re interested in seeing more day-by-day evolution videos, let me know in the comments. I have a hunch that many of you might benefit from seeing how the healing stages unfold when broken down into daily updates.

The Healthy Living Podcast, Stroke Recovery Learn about a revolutionary medical device to help stroke patients rehab faster on this episode of the Healthy Living Podcast. Stroke is a leading cause of disability in the U.S. with nearly 800,000 people suffering a stroke each year. In one minute, a stroke can kill 2 million brain cells. 60% of those who survive a stroke are left with arm and hand weakness and paralysis because their brain is no longer communicating with their upper extremities. Terri Stemple, territory manager for MicroTransponder, introduces us to Vivistim, a device surgically implanted to stimulate the vagus nerve. The Vivistim implant, paired with intense rehab therapy, helps rebuild connections to the brain so arm and hand movements are possible again. https://lnkd.in/ePphXrEM
