#DidYouKnow that Canada’s Banff National Park contains 44 wildlife road crossing structures, the most in any single place in the world? These structures have benefited elk, grizzly bears, and countless other creatures for almost 30 years now, reducing collision mortality rates and opening up corridors for migration. Wildlife corridors, or land areas that connect fragmented habitats, can make movement and resources more accessible for animals. Congress is considering the bipartisan Wildlife Movement Through Partnerships Act (H.R.8836), which would support efforts that improve habitat connectivity. Swipe to learn more about the importance of wildlife corridors for conservation and environmental policy 🦊 For more information, check out the sources at this link: https://lnkd.in/ed5K24Cy #Wildlife #Conservation #Migration #WildlifeCorridors

The illegal wildlife trade, valued at $20 billion annually as per an INTERPOL report, poses a grave threat to our ecosystems. Despite this alarming statistic, daily instances of wildlife poaching persist, causing ecological disruptions with far-reaching consequences for economies, environments, and societies worldwide. As we reflect on the poignant portrayal of wildlife challenges in the film “Dream,” released seven years ago, it’s evident that we must cultivate a new awareness of our complicity in both direct and indirect wildlife slaughter. To commemorate this year’s Wildlife Day celebration celebrated yearly in March, let us: 💡Resort to protect them by saying no to their killing. 💡 Report sightings of wildlife, allowing for their protection and safe return to their natural habitats. Video referenced can be found on YouTube, posted by @4AsVideoChannel. Let’s commit to preserving the wild in its rightful place, thus contributing to the restoration of Earth’s ecological balance. #wildlifeday #rewilding #RRN

The Florida panther, a symbol of resilience, wilderness and beauty, is facing one of its toughest years yet. With an estimated population of just 120-230 in the wild, 2024, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, has already seen the loss of 31 panthers - mostly due to vehicle strikes - making it the deadliest year for these majestic cats since 2016. Panthers rely on connected habitats to thrive, but roads and development are cutting these lifelines apart. Our Green Heart of the Everglades project is focused on restoring and protecting wildlife corridors, ensuring panthers can move freely and safely across their range. These corridors not only reduce fatal collisions but also support genetic diversity by linking populations. Conservation at scale has the greatest impact, which is why we work on a landscape level to protect Florida’s wild spaces. With your support, we can continue building a future where the Florida panther and countless other species have the space and safety they need to survive. #FloridaPanther #ConservationAtScale #EvergladesRestoration #WildlifeCorridors #GreenHeart #WildLandscapesInternational #Biodiversity #Sustainability #HabitatProtection

We're really excited that this special wildlife trundl will support two important Wildlife Trusts in the UK: Sussex Wildlife Trust and Cheshire Wildlife Trust 🦋 🍃While they cover vastly different geographies, they inevitably share common challenges to the wildlife and environments they are both on a mission to nurture and protect. 🐝 🐾 According to the 2023 State of Nature Study, Great Britain is already classified as one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries. Nearly one in six of the more than ten thousand species assessed (16%) are at risk of being lost from Great Britain. 🌿 But, there is always room for a fight back and whether they are chalk-land meadows on the South Coast or heath and riverside meadow in Cheshire, meadows are invaluable habitats for plants, pollinators and animals that are vital to rebuild our bio-diversity. 💚 This is a cause that Cheshire Wildlife Trust and Sussex Wildlife Trust are passionate about as the UK has lost at least 97% of our wild meadows since the 1930s. 🦔 Sussex and Cheshire Wildlife Trusts have ambitious targets for restoring or creating meadows and we're delighted that our trundl will support their work 🌳 trundl will share more in the coming weeks about the similarities and differences, but BIG thanks to Sykes Holiday Cottages for supporting this trundl. Truly living up to their B Corp status and taking environmental responsibilities seriously. #wildlife #nature #environment #charitywalk #purposedrivenbusiness

🐸 Wildlife Conservation Day: Protecting Our Vulnerable Species 🐾 In honor of Wildlife Conservation Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the important work happening to protect the wildlife that makes our planet so amazing! This past summer, our Natural Resources Specialist, Beau Rapier, helped lead a Herpetofauna survey—that’s just a fancy term for studying reptiles and amphibians. The survey focused on identifying species that could be found at the project site, like the alligator snapping turtle, northern pine snake, and the Mississippi green watersnake. Surveys like this are essential for spotting rare, threatened, and endangered species—and making sure we take action to protect them for future generations! #WildlifeConservationDay #SaveWildlife #HerpetofaunaSurvey #RareSpecies #AlligatorSnappingTurtle #NorthernPineSnake #MississippiGreenWatersnake #ConservationMatters #ProtectOurPlanet #GSRC
