It is with deep sadness that I receive the news of the passing of Lawrence Nyasebwa Mafuru, the Executive Secretary of Tanzania’s Planning Commission, a distinguished financial expert, and a true patriot. Lawrence’s visionary spirit and devoted service to both the private and public sectors have inspired many of us, and his loss is a significant one for both our financial sector and the Nation. My deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, colleagues and the nation. May Almighty God grant his family strength and patience during this difficult time, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
