Another well considered JAMA article from two global experts in clinician and healthcare organisational wellbeing. Thank you for sharing Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes' Foundation. https://lnkd.in/gvbWie89 Yes to transparency and shared accountability within organisations for validated wellbeing metrics when used judiciously, respecting individual anonymity, to further the common goal of safer and more supportive workplaces for all. No to league tables which negate this and fail to account for the inequity of resources and starting points across organisations, are vulnerable to manipulation and risk of becoming perfunctory tick box exercises and crucially are detrimental to the very foundations of a psychologically safe workplace for clinicians and healthcare executive leadership teams. Well summarised in the article here: "The fundamental goal is not to determine an organization’s percentile score on a distribution curve at any one moment but rather to foster genuine and ongoing improvement across all organizations, thereby shifting the entire distribution in a favorable direction and creating a better health care workplace for clinicians as well as the patients and communities they serve." #themeanstothegoal #quadrupleaim #futureofhealthcare #clinicianwellbeing #chiefwellnessofficer #leadership Bethan Richards Dr Maura Kenny Alison Robinson Jonathan Fisher, MD, FACC Andrea Austin MD Joanna Sinclair Fiona Fitzgerald Jennifer Martin Suzi Hamilton Jo Cole Bishan Rajapakse Andrew Tagg Jess Morgan Anna Baverstock

"Urgent global action is required to improve the screening, diagnosis and treatment journey for women with cardiovascular disease." - Global Heart Hub This clear and simple message from the Global Heart Hub aptly reflects the dark and complex reality that heart disease, as the LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH for women remains UNDERSTUDIED, UNDERDIAGNOSED, and UNDERTREATED. The truth is, most heart diseases can be managed quite well if detected early. Many patients can go on to enjoy quality of life if their condition is treated and well-managed. Things can and should be better. An important aspect to increasing early detection, preventing missed diagnosis and improving standards of care is to hear from patients themselves and respecting their voice and input in the process. This latest report published by the Global Heart Hub - a patient-led initiative that brought together experts from 15 countries - marks an important milestone in patient-led collaborative research. No doubt a useful resource and must-read for anyone interested in advancing women's heart health.
