I see companies ask "What can we do better?" I have an answer: Don't fire good workers because they don't "fit" your company image. They work day and night to help your company. They take themselves away from their family just to be able to support their family by working for your company. Core values in a job let alone a company shouldn't be dependent on education...because even an educated person can be as dumb as the coworker you work with. Having a risky job I understand education...but something as simple shouldn't have to be dependent on High School Diplomas, GED, or even College or University. Yeah, going to a university is great to learn the things you want to learn in depth but that one worker you turned down for someone who has "higher qualifications" probably couldn't afford to go to college but has just as much qualifications as the person with a degree on their wall...ever thought of that? I worked as a stocker for a company, and I did amazing...did I have previous experience as a stocker? No, I did not but even with the little experience I had as customer service, hostess, etc gave me enough to learn what my stock manager was able to teach with the little time we had. I don't have a degree on my wall, I don't even have a high school diploma...I'm getting my GED but that's even showing that you don't need that to get a job working for a restaurant, retail, fast food, gift shop, flower shop, bakery, etc. You wanna be the change in the world...quit looking for the impossible and branch out, sometimes what you'll find will surprise you.
