Bioinformatics: Essential, Yet Undervalued In modern #Genomics and #Biotechnology, we often see a surprising contradiction: organizations invest significant amounts of money in sequencing, yet overlook the importance of bioinformatics analysis. Without proper analysis, sequencing data is effectively useless — an incomplete investment with no return. Bioinformatics is not just essential; it is also highly complex. Developing bioinformatics solutions requires a rare blend of advanced programming skills and deep knowledge of molecular biology and genetics. Despite this, bioinformatics work is often undervalued and underpaid compared to traditional IT roles. Why? One reason lies in the lack of appreciation for analysis as a critical step.
