Music 'any-way-you-like-it' presupposes that we know how to elucidate the kind of music we want to hear. How could a Nirvana- or grunge more generally, to take one example- emerge if this type of discovery were predominant? I could say the same for hip hop. It hadn't existed before so how would we ask for it? Rubin has a similar statement that 'the audience doesn't know what they want until you give it to them'. Do you think music discovery should adopt the Burger King angle- any way you like it? Article in first comment?
