Although the life expectancy of women currently exceeds that of men, women on average spend about twice as many years in poor health. As we age, we're faced with unique challenges such as menopause, bone health, and caregiving for children and elderly family members, causing some women to drop out of the workforce early. So we live longer but not better, and we can't work as long and make less money? Something is broken here. Join ZS's Women's Health Expertise Hub in this collaboration with Working for Women on Wednesday, Oct. 16 for an insightful discussion on women's healthy aging with Judith Kulich (ZS), Dr. Juliana (Jewel) Kling, MD, MPH, FACP, MSCP, IF (Mayo Clinic), and Dr. Kathleen Green (Maven Clinic). ****Register (for free) here**** https://lnkd.in/gy56t2k7 #WomensHealthWednesday #WomensHealthyAging #Menopause #Osteoporosis

Menopause isn't just about turning a certain age — it can start much younger than you think. It’s not a one-size-fits-all journey. New research is showing us that women have far more control over their biology than we’ve been led to believe. It’s time to flip the script. This is just the beginning of a new era in women’s health, where we’re not just along for the ride — we’re in the driver’s seat. We’re excited about what’s ahead for women's health. We're excited to see so many brilliant women tackling the problems that shouldn't even exist in 2024. So now. No more being told to “just deal with it” — we’re shaping a future where women live healthier, more empowered lives on our terms. Because it’s about time, right? #WorldMenopauseDay #WomensHealthRevolution #HormoneHealth #LongevityAwareness #TheFutureIsFemale

Capturing the essence of our discussions in an #infographic is powerful. The drawings speak for themselves, but here are the #top 3 things that struck me the most: 1. #Love Yourself - Emphasizing the importance of #selflove and acceptance. - Encouraging #women to prioritize their #wellbeing and #mentalhealth. 2. 17 Minutes for Women to Get Aroused - Highlighting the average time it takes for women to become aroused. - Addressing the need for patience and understanding in #intimate #relationships. 3. 20% of Women Do Not Have #Menopause Symptoms - Shedding light on the fact that a significant percentage of women experience menopause without notable symptoms. - Challenging common misconceptions and promoting awareness about the diverse experiences of menopause. This infographic encapsulates these important insights, reinforcing our commitment to women's health and well-being. Credit: @troopsonprint

💄 What did you learn about your body this year? As women, our bodies change at every stage of life – puberty, early-20s, middle-age, menopause, old-age and more. But there's clearly a lack of conversation around it, which means there's something new that you discover out about your own body and its needs every year. At Decoding Draupadi, we want to lead this conversation. Starting with a community-sourced video. We want to work with women who are 14-40 years age, to answer one single question: What did you learn about your body this year? Sounds something you'd like to be a part of? Say hello via the form in the comments :) #womenshealth #womensbodies #health

Factors such as the age of onset, symptom severity and duration, health outcomes and risks, and access to care and cultural perceptions all play a crucial role in shaping these experiences. For BIPOC women, these differences can mean earlier onset, more severe symptoms, and unique challenges in accessing culturally sensitive care. Understanding these disparities is essential for promoting health equity and ensuring that all women receive the support they need during this transitional phase of life. Curious to learn more about how these factors impact BIPOC and White women differently? Dive into our blog post for an in-depth exploration. 🌟 On this #WorldMenopauseAwarenessDay, we reflect on a recent study by #Securex and #UGent, which reveals that 55% of (peri)menopausal women experience challenges at work, yet only 8% feel comfortable discussing the topic with colleagues and managers. This needs to change! 💪💬 On #November5 (disregard date on picture), Mediagenix is hosting a #webinar led by menopause coach Inge Delva to break the taboo and create an open dialogue. This is for ourselves, our partners, our colleagues, and our team members. We’ll explore the symptoms, their impact on work life, and clarify the differences between #menopause and #perimenopause. #MenopauseAwareness #BreakingTheTaboo #mentalhealth #Mediagenix #IngeDelva

NEXT WEEK! How to Help Your Older Clients Resist Feeling Invisible - LIVE event with Maureen Cooper The ageing process is a life-long project effecting all of us—and yet it seems as if it can somehow be manipulated into a means by which many of our unworked out prejudices are allowed to run rampant. Take the experience of people over 50 who feel as if they are becoming invisible. Although this can affect men as well, the people who describe this happening to them are overwhelmingly women. As we all know, women in their fifties are heading towards menopause and the end of their reproductive cycle. At the same time as their bodies are undergoing major changes, their appearance changes too and they can no longer be seen as youthful! When many men are at the zenith of their professional lives and commanding respect and attention, women—whether professionals, or not—become increasingly exposed to ageism. This workshop will focus on enabling participants to face their ageing process head on and to discover how they want to deal with it on their own terms. Invisibility is not inevitable. Each of us can choose how we respond to it—whether we come to accept it and use it to our own advantage, or whether we debate it and demonstrate a different way of ageing. You can join in LIVE or purchase the recording. Use the link below to choose. https://buff.ly/4cZo0Mj #therapistsConnect #training4therapists #counselling
