In March 2024, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb signed a bill that states any future trusts must be given out within 360 years from when it starts. This rule will affect all trusts beginning on or after July 1, 2024, except for charitable ones. If the trust says the benefits need to be given out sooner, then that earlier time will be followed. @National Law Review shares interesting insights on this update that will be relevant for estate planners and their clients.
