A community that cares - the secret ingredient to success? When we first dabbled in the art of chilli pepper cultivation in our small UK garden, my husband decided he would share his passion through YouTube. His videos covered everything from growing to fermenting chilli peppers. But it was his hot sauce tutorial that sparked an unexpected flame. After posting his first video, the response was immediate – our small community of followers wanted to know where they could get their hands on our homemade hot sauce. Motivated by this enthusiasm, we launched our cottage business, beginning with small batches that surprisingly sold out within hours. As our audience grew, so did our production. Today, we prepare hundreds of bottles per batch, supported by a community nearly 200,000 strong. What truly resonates with our customers is the authenticity and personal touch we bring to each bottle. From crafting the recipe and testing it on our bravest friends (sometimes without them knowing! 🤣), to mixing, bottling, capping, and designing everything ourselves – we are deeply involved in every step. This weekend marked a new chapter as we launched 2 x new products on Friday via YouTube. The preparation was intense: I designed new labels just last Thursday, and we've been busy printing, labelling, and packing. With such a robust community, these spicy salts will likely fly off the shelves as quickly as our sauces. Beyond just business, our community thrives on mutual support – from growing advice and seed swaps to troubleshooting and equipment tips. It's not uncommon to find members discussing life's ups and downs in our Discord channels. Why does this matter? Because at the heart of our success is not just chilli or sauce; it's the relationships and connections fostered along the way. Community isn’t just a part of our business; it’s why we do what we do. We both love spending time chatting with the community, we host a livestream once a month and we've also met some of them at chilli festivals in the UK.
