This time 10 years ago I was planning a massive Festival for August 2014... ✴️It was the biggest event I had ever coordinated and managed, attracting 3,000 people. 🔸I wasn't experienced in planning such a big event, but others had trust in me. I was nominated and received the Leader's Special Award along with 2 other amazing local female leaders. ✴️ In May 2018 I led a Team on a climb of Mount Snowdon in Wales and raised funds to transform our Community Centre kitchen for our Seniors Project. 🔸I wasn't an experienced mountain climber, but others trusted my conviction and we managed to summit together. ✴️ Then in Sept 2019 a Team of us embarked on a 5K Rough Runner and once again managed to raise funds for our charity. 🔸I may not have been the fittest person on the Team, but I was definitely the most enthusiastic. We did it, even though I was the last one to beat the Travellator... ✴️ Last year with another Team, I climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland and funds raised helped Stow Inspire to build a home for a mother & her 2 daughters in Dec 2023. 🔸Following toenail surgery and a knee injury, I knew I was facing an uphill struggle, but little did I expect to discover the connection between my natural low blood pressure and altitude sickness. ✴️ There is no doubt that I love a challenge! "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all". - Helen Keller. 🔸So next month (21-25 May) I will be off to climb mountains in Austria - this time to raise funds to build a Learning Institute for Women in Bangladesh. 🎯 There is one place left at the cost of £955 - DM me ASAP if you would like to join! These adventures have taught me: ✅ Courage comes from reflection and ✅ confidence follows delivery. We never know how far we can go until we push ourselves beyond our comfort zone. How long ago have you done a good deed? An act of kindness not awaiting anything in return? Charity and volunteering have become an inseparable part of my life as a Ukrainian. For Ukrainians, however, it's not really ‘doing a good thing without getting anything in return’, because our life depends on it. Every one of us is doing everything he\she can to contribute to victory. My contribution is the charity fund INCORA for Ukraine. Incora and our team have always been proactive, and since the full-scale war started the initiatives were directed toward supporting Ukraine, our defenders, and those who were affected by this war.
