The Asebu Pan African Village has the potential to have a significant impact on the Global South, particularly in promoting Pan-Africanism and cultural exchange among African countries and diaspora communities. Here are some potential impacts: 1. Cultural Exchange and Collaboration: The village provides a platform for Africans from different countries and backgrounds to come together, share their cultures, traditions, and experiences, and collaborate on projects that promote African unity and solidarity. This cultural exchange can help break down stereotypes and foster a sense of common identity among Africans. 2. Economic Development: By promoting tourism and cultural activities, the Asebu Pan African Village can help generate income for the local community and support economic development in the region. This can create opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as contribute to job creation and poverty alleviation. 3. Education and Awareness: The village can serve as an educational hub for learning about African history, culture, and traditions. By raising awareness about the contributions of African people to global society and highlighting the importance of Pan-Africanism, the village can help combat ignorance and promote a more positive image of Africa on the global stage. 4. Networking and Collaboration: The Asebu Pan African Village can facilitate networking and collaboration among individuals, organizations, and communities in the Global South, fostering partnerships and initiatives that promote social, cultural, and economic development in the region. This can help strengthen bonds among countries in the Global South and empower people to address common challenges and opportunities together. Overall, the Asebu Pan African Village has the potential to be a catalyst for positive change in the Global South by promoting unity, cultural exchange, economic development, education, and collaboration among African countries and diaspora communities.

Today marks the first day of the AFRICA YOUTH CONSULTATIVE FORUM ON UN SUMMIT OF SUMMIT THE FUTURE in Addis Ababa, Ethopia. As l prepare my presentation for a rather impromptu panel discussion on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital co-operation, this is one of my go to reads. Dr. McLean Sibanda ' s knowledge is gold. Protip the books are om special currently. 550 rands for two of them. Today my audience is different from the Monday one, its the enterpreneurs, innovators, scientists etc so I'm exploringamong the different topics, the "l" in STI. Quoting a good friend of mine 's words Junior Hlahla " People don't need just apps, they need incomes, products at reasonable prices and a platform to break the cycle of poverty and uplift themselves" As you are Innovating, starting up...have you stopped to ask what does my invention, intiative change, who does it speak to, what impact does it have? Its easy to be carried away by the tech craze( im seeing a lot of it as l analyse StartUp Acts in Africa). But the I in STI stands for innovation which means something new that brings value and speaks to needs of people. The whole forum is live on the YouTube channels l once shared. This side event panel l am presenting on is scheduled for 3pm. I will share any more details under comments. Here is to building the Africa we want through growing the Start Up pipeline whose foundation is STI.

Pan-Africanism: The Fast Track to Africa's Development Africa, a continent rich in resources and cultural diversity, holds tremendous potential. Rooted in the belief that Africans share a common history and destiny, it emphasizes that collective action can address the continent's challenges. Why Pan-Africanism is Essential for Africa's Progress Economic Integration By uniting, African nations can create larger markets, reduce trade barriers, and increase their global bargaining power. Pan-Africanism provides a framework for collaboration, allowing nations to share resources and knowledge to tackle these issues more effectively. Empowering Young Africans to Fuel Sustainable Development in Africa 📌 Empowering young people is truly securing the future. It ss basically seeing Africa in the lenses of positive transformation. It is where young people are empowered to make decisions and take actions, hence making the present and the future promising. Three key elements of youth empowerment include: 1️⃣ Skilling them up with skills and expertise that are required to innovatively and sustainably develop solutions and interventions for Africa. 2️⃣ Giving them the opportunity to put the skills and expertise into practice. This includes believing in them, creating platforms and providing resources that would enable them transform the skills and expertise into practical and applicable solutions. 3️⃣ Cultivating the spirit of active citizenship to drive desirable impact where the young Africans feel passionate of positively contributing towards a better Africa. To want to be part of the sustainable development we want to see as Africa. 📌 And so I believe we must be deliberate. If Africa wants to rise, it must not ignore the youth. It must be willing to leverage on its young population. There is no shortcut to this, we must be deliberate! #YoungProfessionals #SkillsExpertiseOpportunitiesPassion_SustainableSolutions #PanAfricanism #SustainableDevelopment #BetterAfrica Michael Muiya SAMUEL NJUGUNA JOE NJUGUNA Malamine Badiane R Elwin Betty Mutua Dr Renuka Thakore Representing Global Communities CorpsAfrica/Kenya GSFN Emerging Leaders Foundation Youth YEVON-KENYA Upcoming African Youth Organization (UAYO)

The Next Africa: A Continent on the Rise (part A) Africa, the cradle of humanity, holds a profound place in the annals of history. From the ancient splendour of the Egyptian and Kurdish pyramids to the scholarly grandeur of Timbuktu, the continent has long been a beacon of civilisation and intellectual advancement. Today, Africa is not merely looking back at its illustrious past—it is charging forward, redefining itself as a hub of innovation, talent, and transformative energy. Africa: The Origin of Civilisation Human history owes much to Africa, where the earliest traces of human life and culture emerged. This vast and diverse continent, with its fertile Nile Valley, gave rise to some of the world’s earliest great civilisations. Ancient Egypt, with its monumental achievements in architecture, medicine, mathematics, and governance, laid the foundation for much of the modern world’s advancements. The great empires of Kurd, Axum, Ghana, Mali, Songhai and Benin brought wealth, art, and scholarship to global prominence. African traditions of storytelling, philosophy, and community-building continue to influence global cultures, reminding the world of the continent’s rich contributions. But Africa’s narrative is no longer just about the past. With a youthful and rapidly growing population, Africa is now poised to shape the future like never before. The Demographic Dividend: Africa’s Youthful Energy Africa is the youngest continent on Earth, with nearly 60% of its population under the age of 25. This demographic is a wellspring of energy, creativity, and ambition. Unlike the aging populations that challenge many developed regions, Africa’s youth present an unparalleled opportunity—a demographic dividend that can drive economic growth, innovation, and societal transformation. This new generation is leveraging technology, education, and cultural heritage to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Across the continent, young entrepreneurs are developing groundbreaking solutions in fields such as fintech, agritech, and renewable energy. Startups like Kenya’s M-Pesa have revolutionized mobile banking, while Nigeria’s tech hubs are nurturing a wave of digital innovators. Moreover, African creatives are reshaping global cultural landscapes, with music, art, and film gaining unprecedented recognition. From the Afrobeats phenomenon to Nollywood’s storytelling prowess, the continent’s cultural output is redefining narratives and exporting African identity to the world stage.

🌟 What an incredible privilege to speak alongside such inspiring personalities at the recent United Nations Nigeria "Celebrating UN@79 #PactForTheFuture"; Dialogue with the Future Generation! Engaging with visionary leaders like Mr. Tayo Olusunde, CEO of MindThe_GapNg; Titilope Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives; Babatunde Adelekan; Lailah Sanusi Gumbi; Babatunde Adelekan; Adigun Ibrahim; Rafiat Atanda; Dr. Joy Rademene Asonye; and Austin Erameh was truly enlightening. 💡 Their insights into youth development, innovation, and social impact sparked conversations with the potential to shape the future. During the session, I engaged in a discussion on how the UN can further promote and support youth-led initiatives in Nigeria—particularly in the areas of social entrepreneurship and innovation. We explored the critical areas where young people can expect support to turn their ideas into sustainable ventures, aligning with the broader vision for youth empowerment in Nigeria. We also appreciate the United Nations, IOM - UN Migration for empowering youth to have a voice in policymaking, both in Nigeria and on the global stage. This vital inclusion enables young leaders to actively shape policies that impact their futures and communities. Special thanks to the United Nations for setting up the #PACTfortheFuture and for its dedication to fostering youth involvement at every level. Reflecting on my experience from four months ago at the ECOWAS 2024 Youth ‘Voices for Change’ Summit in Accra, Ghana, held in June. I was honored to represent Nigeria at this impactful event where I engaged with passionate youth leaders on the theme: "Digital Innovation, Inclusivity, Regional Economic Growth, Peace, and Stability." Which was truly inspiring. I’ve been quite busy with work and navigating life, which is why I’m sharing this now. The summit was indeed impactful as it fostered youth-led digital innovations, amplified our voices in policy design, and explored partnerships to scale these initiatives. It was inspiring to collaborate with youth leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to co-create solutions that address the aspirations of young Africans and to advocate for policies that promote an enabling environment for digital transformation. Organized by the ECOWAS Commission and partners like USAID and UNOWAS, the event underscored the importance of leveraging technology for inclusive development and sustainable peace. Also it will excite you to know that the theme is particularly relevant in today’s digital age, emphasizing the need for Us as African youth to harness technology for inclusive development and sustainable peace across our continent. To crown it all, my key take away and encouragement to fellow African youths is this: - “The present will not give way to the future if the future does not actively participate in the activities of the present.” - Therefore, We must earnestly engage in today’s activities, for we are the future. ! I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such vital discussions and as I continue to build connections and grow professionally, I’m excited to share that there are more adventures and success stories to come. Stay tuned for updates on my journey in international development! #YouthVoicesForChange #ECOWAS #DigitalInnovation #YouthEmpowerment #InternationalDevelopment #EU #PLAC #Commonwealth #MastercardFoundation #EuropeanUnion European Commission #PolicyMaking #Diplomacy #YouthDevelopment #WestAfrica #UN #UnitedNations #USAID #UNOWAS #InclusiveCities #SustainableDevelopment #Mentorship #UrbanOctober2024 #SummitOfTheFuture Youth Conservation
