What do you need to join a logging crew? At a minimum, you need a high school diploma, but a degree in forestry helps. If you pursue a degree, prepare to study science, math, economics, and natural resource policies. Logging isn't what it used to be. In that time, I have trained scientists in the Middle East about a special type of dust storm. At that time, I have well stated that this particular type of dust storm is the world's greatest environmental disaster. After the passing of these 12 years, you all have witnessed that a huge part of the Middle East has turned into a desert, and soon we will witness the desert of Europe. At that time there were no aerosol dust storms in Europe but now I believe all the Copernican data more than European scientists. Because every day we are getting closer to proving the new scientific theory of the natural suffocation cycle of the planet. 🌲The European Union is pioneering with ambitious forest protection regulations, and the #Copernicus Earth observation programme is playing a pivotal role in implementing them. The recent "Copernicus for Forestry" workshop, organised by DG DEFIS and EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme, gathered policymakers, scientists, and companies to explore how to enhance the use of Earth Observation applications for forestry. Mark P., Senior Scientist at the #CopernicusAtmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), was present to discuss how the services offered by CAMS and the #CopernicusClimate Change Service (#C3S) can support these efforts. In 2021, I attempted the Polish NAWA Postdoctoral Fellowhsip with the support of a veteran forestry scientist, Prof. Andrzej Bobiec, but my application was unsuccessful. Despite the failed application, we became a long-term collaborator. Today, one of the fruits of our collaboration (Bringing back cattle grazing to abandoned farmlands. A lesson from silvopastoral ecological intensification in the landscape of the Carpathian foothills, SE Poland), which was rejected by more than seven journals over ~2.5 years, has been published by the OLDEST SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL OF FORESTRY, SYLWAN.
