Have you read the Black Summer Bushfires, Five Years On report? $26M was donated to our Foundation following the Black Summer Bushfires. Our report breaks down how these funds have supported communities in their recovery to date, while also highlighting a few of the 920+ projects and activities we've funded. For example, WATCH the video below to learn about how Moruya Repair Café were able to better support their local community in its time of need using an FRRR grant. Additional takeaway from my last post: want to help western North Carolina (WNC)? Adopt a church and make a donation directly. There is a huge logistical/ distribution problem getting aid out from the I40/US321 corridors right now (the two examples from Old Fort and Morganton provided last post plus the Town of Boone stopped taking donations Friday). As in the example provided, churches are actively engaged in helping their communities but are short on resources while local municipalities are being overrun with the influx of aid. Disaggregating the distribution approach is needed. Just as in business, small locally focused industrial distributors often provide value because of their access to and relationships with their customers. So too do churches have this access and these relationships and every community has a church. So just as I found Ed and Reggie at FBC Hildebran so too could you find a church in WNC and make a donation and help bypass the bottlenecks. Want to help WNC? Adopt a WNC church and make a donation directly.

If you are wondering what kind of impact your business can have for a not for profit organization, check this out. This is the third year in a row that this local business has turned over the proceeds of mulch sales for the day, totaling roughly $10,000. That kind of support is huge for Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington. The relationship started with a #CSGW presentation where owner Marty Young was in attendance. He learned how the program worked and how it could be an impactful tool for #CommunitySafety. As a business that has been impacted by crime, he felt this was an organization that he could support. Aligning your business with the #CrimeStoppers brand isn't just a smart move for community engagement, it can actually be a boost to your profile. Consider partnering with your local program.
Wow! Another awesome #MulchSale year in #MountForest . Thank you to Marty Young and his team at Young's Home Hardware who donated ALL proceeds from this year's sale. Here Marty, left, is joined by #CSGW Past Chair Deryck West. Outstanding support from this community partner! Shout out to our #Guelph partners, Andre Belisle and his team at JL's Home Hardware for raising $1,776 for our program during #MayMulchMonth.
