📢 Get to know the ASSESS DHT Consortium! 👩🏫 Today, we invite you to learn more about Technische Universit��t Berlin -TUB, as part of our partner spotlight series.   The ASSESS DHT consortium comprises 14 partners from 7 countries aiming to develop and harmonise methodologies for assessing digital health technologies (#DHTs) in Europe.   💡 TUB's focus in this project is on leading the work package on the taxonomy of DHT for assessment purposes, methods review, and gap analysis. The team will study the current landscape of assessment methods and frameworks, critically assess their strengths and weaknesses, identify existing gaps, and develop a comprehensive, evidence-based DHT taxonomy. Joining the MPI Belgium - Luxembourg Chapter association was one of the best decisions in my life and career 🤩 Whether you're a young person entering the workplace, an experienced professional or a business owner, associations play a crucial role in helping you grow both personally and professionally. Here's my story... I joined MPI Belgium in 2012. In just six years, I progressed from being a member to Executive Director and eventually, President of MPI Belgium. Although I stepped down from the role in 2019, my journey with MPI didn't end there. The clients, colleagues, industry professionals and countless people I connected with through MPI all over the globe, are still a vital part of my network and my journey. Fast forward to today, as the Manager of Westerlicht, centra voor leven met en na kanker a center for people living with and after cancer, the experience I had as an volunteer within MPI was crucial to get on board. I find that my involvement in associations continues to be instrumental. It helps me to cope with the grief of losing four loved ones, including my husband, and supports others facing similar battles 💖 So, my advice to you is: 🔍Discover what you are passionate about. 🔗Search for and find associations that align with your passion. ✨Join them and watch the magic happen. I think it is time for an update on the latest conferences I have attended. First of all, I want to thank all the organisers and participants for enabling such enriching contexts and intensive discussions. At the NKG23, Holger Jahnke and I dealt with different understandings of democracy under the scope of the present overlapping crises. To bring democracy closer to the ground, in the EU-funded-project “ReCreaDe – Reimagining Creative Democracy” we qualitatively analysed negotiation practices among transeuropean student teachers. The results served for further reflections on democracy and its practical implementations (https://lnkd.in/dA24fF-b). At the end of that year, I presented the concept of “Phenomenological place-based democracy” at the DKG23. The aim was to (re)imbricate the abstract idea of democracy with its constitutive platial, conflictual and bodily-emotional dimensions. Thereupon, I developed an analytical tool for the operationalisation of (non)democratic practices (https://lnkd.in/dTQZQMh3). These elements add together in my doctoral thesis entitled “Democratic Placemaking”, where I not only theorise on the subject, but also observe, analyse and evaluate (non)democratic practices in place, especially in local contexts. After developing a congruent methodology and applying it on the field research, an empirical case study in Spain, I presented just a couple days ago the preliminary results at the NKG24 (https://lnkd.in/dVD8jaMc). Walter Copan, Vice President of Mines Office of Research & Technology Transfer represented Colorado School of Mines at the recent Future of Challenge-Driven Partnerships conference at University of Cambridge.    The conference focused on answering the question, “What needs to be done to enable multi-stakeholder partnerships involving universities to significantly accelerate the development of breakthrough innovations aimed at tackling urgent and complex grand challenges?”   This is a timely and important question because many current and emerging challenge-focused initiatives are large-scale and require teams that include academic, government, and industry collaboration to take on the world’s critical challenges.   #InnovationWithImpact
