I recently had the privilege of speaking on ElevenLabs' panel about #accessibility, expertly moderated by Dalton Pakkala alongside Eric Kern from Lenovo and Bridging Voices. We discussed our groundbreaking collaborative project that harnesses the power of #AI to revolutionize assistive technologies for individuals living with disabilities.
In this video, we delve into how the convergence of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) is set to disrupt the market in unprecedented ways, making once-unaffordable solutions both accessible and scalable. By uniting multiple companies leveraging AI for good, we are working towards providing a la carte solutions catering to the diverse needs of people with disabilities. Our ultimate goal is to create a blueprint for individuals to thrive.
A key aspect of this initiative is building a bespoke Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) solution with a basic, free version to fill a significant gap in the market. This will enable companies like IRISBOND to create more robust AAC solutions to work with their eye-tracking, empowering users with enhanced communication capabilities.
We recognize the importance of collaborating with experts in the field. Our product designer, Esther Duran, emphasizes the significance of not designing in a vacuum with engineers. Instead, she's actively involving end-users and working with john costello and his team at The Jay S. Fishman ALS Augmentative Communication Program at Boston Children's Hospital.
Our team at The Scott-Morgan Foundation is incredibly excited about the potential impact of this collaboration and the role AI will play in making assistive technologies more accessible and empowering. Together, we are taking significant strides towards a future where individuals with disabilities can fully participate in all aspects of life.
