Islamic State Khorasan (ISK) & Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) Threaten European & US Sporting Events with Weaponized Drones C/O Futures Terrorism Research Note Series Robert J. Bunker and Pamela Ligouri Bunker 6 June 2024 The Islamic State Khorasan (ISK)—and the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS)—have been emboldened since the March 2024 Crocus City Hall attack in the Moscow metropolitan region. In an attempt to exploit that incident, threat messaging (via posters; images) against European and now United States sports venues has taken place over the last two months. These involve threats of ground attacks using IS Just Terror TTPs (published in Rumiyah) and increasingly are combined with threats of stand-alone weaponized drone (IED carrying) attacks and dual ground based and weaponized drone assaults on sports arenas. The intent of these threats is for propaganda purposes to generate terror within the West along with the promotion of Salafist-jihadi recruitment and fund- raising activities. The threat of weaponized drone attacks by ISK and ISIS against Europe and the US represents the crossing of a significant firebreak in their perception of the terrorism potentials unmanned aerial systems (UAS) now offer. https://lnkd.in/gr5dBGtz

#Disinformation campaigns represent one of the most complex and pressing challenges of our time. They not only undermine the integrity of democratic processes but also target the psychological vulnerabilities of individuals and societies, creating divisions, chaos, and mistrust. This #wargame, with its potential to understand and combat these threats on a tactical and strategic level, offers hope in the face of such challenges. As we tackle these challenges, #cyberpsychology offers a powerful lens through which to understand the human factors behind digital influence operations. We can develop more effective countermeasures by examining the psychological motivations and behaviors of those who spread online disinformation and those who consume it. Developing these countermeasures involves: (1). Behavioral analysis to predict and mitigate the impact of false narratives. Cyber deception techniques to detect and neutralize adversarial efforts before they gain traction. (2). Real-time feedback loops that adapt to evolving disinformation tactics, enabling us to stay ahead of the threat. (3). Our response to disinformation must transcend mere technical solutions and adopt a comprehensive approach, integrating behavioral insights, digital forensics, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I am eager to contribute my expertise in #Cyberpsychology to these efforts and anticipate the valuable insights this wargame will yield as we fortify our defenses against disinformation in the Western Balkans and beyond. Iranian X account: “2:00” Is Iran going to attack Israel at 2:00AM tonight? “when your going to shoot, shoot don't talk” So what are the indications that an attack by Iran and Hezbollah is probably imminent? We'll go into detail immediately, but first we'll note that the panic in Beirut tonight is many times greater than in Tel Aviv, and rightly so. An attack by the Shia axis will encounter the best air defense system in the world, reinforced by an unprecedented coalition of intercepts, and hitting civilian targets in Israel will lead to a disproportionate response against Iran and Lebanon. And now, for the indications: 1. In the last day, American intelligence has located the preparations of the missile arrays (and possibly also the UAVs) in Iran that are similar to the preparations before the attack on the night of April 14. 2. The IDF located similar preparations by Hezbollah in Lebanon. 3. Hizbollah evacuated its headquarters and offices from the Da'ahiya area. 4. Ali Khamenei visited a mosque of symbolic importance in Iran, to which it is customary to make a pilgrimage before fateful moments. 5. Senior officials in Iran re-increased their statements regarding the expected response. 6. 9th of Av, the day of the destruction of the Temple, a symbolic date that may "seduce" the Iranians and Nasrallah. 7. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that the US shares Israel's assessment that the attack by Iran and its allies may be launched this week. On the other hand, there are reports that the American mediator Amos Hochstein is on his way to Lebanon, which may delay the attack for a day or two. (Tamir Moorg) Hamas Psychological Warfare In the last few minutes, the terrorist organization Hamas has distributed a publication on Telegram that includes a written message in which it claims that in two separate incidents a hostage was killed and two hostages were injured by Hamas operatives. At this point, we do not have any intelligence support that allows us to refute or confirm the claims of Hamas.
