I learned from mentors and great fighter pilots that being “brilliant in the basics” would carry someone far in their fighter pilot career. This checklist works when all else fails: - Don’t hit your wingman/ flight lead - Accomplish a methodical SEAD cross check - Execute briefed phase/flow priorities - Release valid weapons and communicate efficiently I have never executed the basics flawlessly, very far from it, but the adage rings true in nearly all cases. Today, in my opinion, if diplomacy fails and we are called upon to deny or defeat our adversaries, we won’t win because we saw the exact same scenario or picture on Range X or Live Fly sortie Y, nor even in the sim. We will win only if we are so technically sound, so in-tuned with the most fundamental skills our job requires to effectively provide effects, so GOOD, that no matter what is in front of you, you are ready to go. Polo worked really hard on this paper, and it doesn’t just apply to Panther pilots. I share because it will potentially change some thoughts on turning a range into a threat country because that’s what we have to work with and simplify things to become truly EFFICIENT, accomplishing the greatest effect with the least effort and resources required and focusing on the basic skills that apply across all challenges. Enjoy

Over the weekend our team completed a full scale maritime exercise and the deployment of our aerial dispersant spray assets alongside our partner, West Atlantic UK Ltd. The exercise involved installation and operation of an Oil Dispersant Spray Kit installed into a Boeing 737 which then conducted routine training spray operations using water to simulate dispersant application, along with our B200 King Air providing spotter operations. The goals of the exercise were to: - Rehearse the installation of the kit along with the recurrent and new training of installation engineers: increasing resilience and optimising operational delivery - Revalidate line pilot training: this is crucial to ensure safe and effective operations when carrying out Aerial Dispersant Application. - Carry out routine Spray System Operator (SSO) training: as part of the flight crew it is essential our SSOs have experience in operating the kit in the aircraft. A key component of the operation involved the simultaneous deployment of our spotter aircraft which conducted the spray missions alongside the Boeing 737, focusing on communication and coordination and ensuring a safe and effective overall operation. This comprehensive training forms part of our robust training programme which ensures all members of the team, whether operational, administrative or technical maintain the high levels of competence required to carry out their duties. Exercises like this are crucial to ensure we are prepared and in a state of operational readiness for a live callout should it ever be required by our customer the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. #aviation #maritime #oilspillresponse #aerospace

WHAT DOES EACH BAR IN THE EPAULET MEAN ?🧑🏻✈️✈️ 1. 1 Stripe : Represents either a third officer or a trainee pilot. The epaulette shows a single gold stripe. 2. 2 Stripes : Indicates a second officer, who may be third in command on long-haul flights. The epaulette has two gold stripes. 3. 3 Stripes : Signifies a First Officer (FO), who is second in command of the aircraft, directly below the captain. The epaulette shows three gold stripes. 4. 4 Stripes : Represents the rank of Captain, the pilot in command (PIC) of the aircraft. The epaulette has four gold stripes. This image provides a visual reference for understanding pilot ranks based on the number of stripes on their epaulettes, which is part of the professional attire used in aviation to signify levels of responsibility and leadership. #pilot #pilotlife #uniform #epaulettes #aviation #aviationlovers #aviationgeek #SasidharanMurugan #Itzmemsd

Pedro, Pedro, Pedro, Pedro, Weeee. Trust your instruments until you have an issue. Spoofing, failure, no connection to satellite systems or anything else which can disturb your concentration or bring your attention elsewhere, trust your training and procedures and discuss issues with your copilot, if any:) #safetyfirst
Me: How's the flight, captain? He: Calm down, everything under control! The aircraft 👇👇

Congratulations to my team on issuing this report on Special Forces training accidents. Special Forces personnel conduct high-risk training to prepare for challenging missions. But serious accidents have raised questions about the safety of some of these activities. About 80% of the over 3,600 on-duty, non-combat accidents reported from FY 2012-2022 occurred during training. Parachute and dive training accounted for about 40% of those accidents. The U.S. Special Operations Command designated 7 training areas as high-risk, including parachuting, diving, and urban combat. But it hasn't analyzed accident trends in these areas or others that may be high-risk to improve safety. We have recommendations to address this and 5 others. Please check it out!

In every theatre of operations, from home soil to far-flung battlefields, the ability to manoeuvre vehicles safely and effectively underpins mission success. A well-trained driver ensures the swift transport of troops, equipment, and vital supplies, often under extreme conditions where every second counts. Moreover, mastery of advanced driving techniques enables our personnel to navigate hazardous terrains, evade threats, and maintain operational tempo. In UKCF, driver training represents discipline, precision, and readiness. It is a cornerstone of our capability, ensuring that no mission is beyond reach.

Aerotek Recruiting & Staffing Senior Recruiter | Aviation Maintenance Division | Military Transition Career Advisor | Veteran Advocate
If you are an aviation maintainer in the military and you want to get your A&P before you get out, or if you are already out and want to, the first thing you need to do is get your 8610-2. Here is some information about that process, which is much simpler than you would think. For more information about this process and the aviation maintenance job market, give me a call or send me a message. I'll be glad to help you out. jalamb@aerotek.com The FAA 8610-2 is an application form used to request an airman certificate, rating, or inspection authorization for a mechanic. Find a FSDO Near You https://lnkd.in/eeKwCe2t Purpose The FAA uses the information on this form to determine if an applicant is qualified and physically able to perform the duties of the certificate or rating they are applying for. How to Use Applicants must submit the form to their local Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) or International Flight Standards Office (IFO). They will then need to request an appointment with an Airworthiness Aviation Safety Inspector (ASI) to review and process their application. What to Expect The ASI will evaluate the applicant's practical experience working on airframes and/or powerplants. If the applicant meets the experience requirements, the ASI will sign the form authorizing the applicant to test. Written Tests - PSI Testing Center: General - 60 questions. Airframe - 100 questions. Powerplant - 100 questions. Oral Exam - DME: · Minimum of four (4) questions per content area - 4 general, 4 airframe, and 4 powerplant for 12 total. · Maximum of 22 general, 34 airframe, and 34 powerplant for total of 90. · How many you get depends on your specific scores from the computer knowledge exam. · If you're a Part 147 school student testing under §65.80 and have not taken the computer knowledge exam before oral and practical, then expect to have all 90 questions. · All questions generated will be asked and the pass/fail grade calculated at the end. Practical Exam-DME: · Number and type of projects is not related to computer knowledge exam. · DME's are required to ask two (2) practical questions during each project. · You must successfully complete the project and correctly answer both questions to pass the project. General - 9 Projects · You can fail up to two (2) projects and still pass for the content area. · If a 3rd project is failed, the test will be terminated. Airframe - 11 Projects · You can fail up to three (3) projects and still pass for the content area. · If a 4th project is failed, the test will be terminated. Powerplant - 11 Projects · You can fail up to three (3) projects and still pass for the content area. · If a 4th project is failed, the test will be terminated.

Doing annually steering and autopilot health check on Sperry Navipilot 4000. FU, NFU and Auto mode all tested. This is critical for commercial vessel for ocean going. Class surveyor will check this function as well. Naval vessel having the similar operation also critical to request specialist to check, since Naval vessel will not be screened by class surveyor. Accident may happen if annual health check was not carried out, resulting in loss of life and properties.😊
