June 4, 2024 BPIAA Counterpoint | Possible Federal Job Opportunity Being upfront, I am posting these “possible” federal job opportunities with the Federal Aviation Administration even though I can attest FAA is an anti-civil rights and anti-equal employment opportunity federal agencies that relishes in the underrepresentation of African American Females and Males in their Mission Critical Occupations! History of disparate treatment, adverse impact, and patterns or practices of unlawful discrimination prove me being truthful! Nevertheless, in Our brutal and deadly battles for civil rights and equality and the fight against segregation and Jim Crow, Our People put their lives on the line and paid a heavy cost to gain civil rights, equality in employment and jobs, housing, and voting…to not have to sit in the back of the bus! So apply Sisters and Brothers…but be aware of the anti-Black attitudes and sentiments of FAA’s predominantly Caucasian workforce! Don’t blindly believe FAA is an equal opportunity employer…that’s a false claim! Unity and Peace!

Attention 🚨 Today's topic > EN 469:2020 certified firefighting suits 👨🚒 European Union (EU) ships (i.e., ships flagged by a member State of the EU) must comply with the Marine Equipment Directive (MED). The MED requires new protective, non-reflective firefighting clothing to meet either EN 469:2005 or EN 469:2020 until 25 August 2024. After this date, only EN 469:2020 should be purchased. Existing equipment need not be replaced if remaining in good condition. The MED does not stipulate a specific required level of EN 469 for firefighter's protective clothing, allowing both level 1 and level 2 to be considered compliant. If you are looking for new firefighter suits, please contact our team and we will be happy to provide you with a quote for suits that meet the latest requirements and standards. ✅ info@woellmarine.com #MED #SOLAS #IMO #firefighter #shipsafety #vessel #ship #maritimeindustry #schifffahrt #shipping #shipmanagement #reederei #maritime #worldwideservice #lifesaving #serviceprovider

The regatta season is in full swing and with it numerous racing yachts are sailing on the Mediterranean. Some owners have already realized that our DDCE system is the ideal way to protect themselves from possible lightning strikes. The biggest difference between lightning protection on ships and on land are the space and the distances. On land, lightning strikes can often be dissipated with little damage. At sea, the situation is quite different. Due to the limited space, the necessary distances between the arresters cannot be maintained. It often comes to flashovers or inductions which has a considerable damage to the yacht and especially the electronics. This makes the DDCE lightning protection system especially in the marine market so unique. If you like to know more about the DDCE, visit www.elna.de #lightning #protection #marineindustry #elna

Aerodrome inspectors often observe fire service response tests and exercises, but it is easy to forget to ensure that these observers have adequate personal protective equipment and/or have identified safe locations from which to observe activities. In this example a large water tanking is joining the response and creating significant blowing dust. Solutions might include observing from upwind, RPE and eye protection, or observing from inside a vehicle with recirculating air. #aerodromestandards #emergencyplanning #aerodromecertificate #RFFS #PPE #RPE

Is avoiding other boats and jet-skis making you nervous ? The Navigation Rules (ColRegs) are really a set of instructions that tell you what to do and when to do it ….. Current training standards oversimplify what you need to know and then there are the training classes that simply tell you to avoid a collision at all cost. Rental companies and Boaters Ed “licenses” are guilty of this and may contribute to a false sense of security in unsuspecting new boaters. The “Captains” aren’t properly trained, so how can they train new students? Data from thousands of comments from our 45,000 IG Followers speak to the need to do better. In a poll asking the most simple basic question about a head-on situation, 44% of respondents got the answer wrong!! Come on the Insurance Industry, Rental industry, even the manufacturers and State License administrators….we need to DO BETTER and demand a higher standard to protect our customers from what they don’t know that they don’t know. As a former Royal Navy Instructor Officer I received the highest military training in the world in this subject area. We are proud to partner with the Qualified Captain in our effort to “Change the Way the World Goes Boating™” so that we will all have more fun, confidence and safety out on the water 👍

Those of you who make a career of airfield inspections. You drive by your signs at a minimum average 3-5 times per day, depending on the size of your airport. Are you really inspecting them though? Early in my career, my then supervisor Geoffrey Gaskin, CM, ACE taught me: Inspect daily, and after work. Inspect, Discover, Document, Repair, Reinspect. #CompleteTheCircle
