It was also a pleasure to have worked with NG on the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye cutaway. Fun times down in Melbourne.

We (I was the structural-design member of the producibility team) put the E-2C into production in Plant 36 during the Winter of 1970-1971. The E-2C + F-14 made a terrific team for task-force defense against missile strikes. PS Would you believe ... many of the people hired to work in Plant 36 could not read blueprints ... as a result, the "Bands" under the radome that held the fore and aft sections together were rolled inside-out for the first 14 planes. Bob Minich (of the LM project) came up with a reprocessing schedule so that we could roll them flat and then reroll them to the correct shape.

Honored and privileged to work on the E-2 & C-2 service life extension program at Naval Air Station North Island. Truly an amazing aircraft.

Privileged to be a part of it. Ashley Machine and Tool Co. is still making parts for the E-2D. Thank you Northrop Grumman!

Being bunked under the number 2 wire on the USS Midway, I could always tell when the E-2 landed.
