I met this raptor in central London; the man attached to it explained that the bird was trained to circle the buildings and scare off the pigeons and gulls that both pollute the environment and harass shoppers. It is effective and ok for the environment. I did wryly wonder if the raptor kept starlings away too. Starlings, en masse, like pigeons, gulls (and humans) also cause damage, and raptors are their major predators. In fact, the swirling murmurations are believed to be created as a form of protection against them. Let’s learn from the starlings, we are stronger when we unite in a single cause; together we can be safer, more effective, and create something beautiful. It only takes one bird to spark a murmuration. The seven closest starlings follow as do the seven around each of those and so on. Be a starling. Inspire change with the strength of a group. And be beautiful. #starlings #murmuration #bethechange #inspiration #motivation #strength #success

The difference between being brave and being *stupidly* brave lies in the assessment of risk and consequence. - **Bravery** involves facing fear or danger with a clear understanding of the risks and possible outcomes. It’s often marked by thoughtful action, where courage is combined with wisdom or a sense of responsibility. For example, a firefighter running into a burning building with proper equipment to save lives demonstrates bravery. - **Stupid bravery**, on the other hand, occurs when someone takes unnecessary or reckless risks without fully considering the dangers or consequences. This type of bravery often lacks foresight or preparation, and the actions can be more impulsive. For instance, rushing into a dangerous situation without any plan or protective measures may be seen as foolhardy rather than truly courageous. In short, the line between the two is defined by whether the bravery is tempered with wisdom and a sense of responsibility or driven by recklessness.://https://lnkd.in/d_9JHmyM

This is Oliver the rescue Clydesdale. Watching him on his journey to health has often been my muse as I take in this families interaction with their farm and lifestyle. Today as Oliver is hooked up to test a concept it dawned on me that they are introducing new farm behaviour that is shaping up in stages. I align with the environmental impact I foresee but I believe it is for their own cost of living. In the video a name is introduced, Nattie. She is their second rescued Clydesdale. It seems the intention of foresight has gone into the purpose of introducing another breed of horse into their farm life. They had been only breeding Missouri foxtrotters prior to Oliver. This foresight is what I would call a goal setting process for achieving long term goals. This structure is transferable across all life areas and industries. Often with goal coaching I find many, many people are activated by the stimulus surrounding them that influences s shift in their goals eliminating the type of consideration you witness in this video. Instead of foundational steps for achievement it can become random chaos through the (un)helpful influences of others in your community, trends and trying on others ideas that don't originate from you and your own intentions that integrate with your values. Seemingly random, this farmer (who is also a full time electrician) is actually a mentor from his integrated knowledgeable experience. A quality I admire. #settinglongtermgoals #soldistructureofplanning
