Legionnaires’ Disease remains a persistent challenge in the cooling tower industry, but we are committed to making a difference. While the proper utilization of water treatment chemicals can reduce the risks of breeding pathogens, such as legionella – the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ Disease – there are still instances today where cooling towers are being identified as the source of the often-deadly disease. In fact, a recent outbreak at a resort in New Hampshire has been linked to a cooling tower. https://lnkd.in/gfaTKren Therefore, we believe it is incumbent upon the industry to go beyond relying solely on water treatment chemicals to battle legionella and other pathogens. Our antimicrobial cooling towers contain additives within the engineered plastic resin that operate on a cellular level to continuously disrupt and prevent the uncontrolled growth of microorganisms and biofilm within the cooling tower. These towers have undergone independent, third-party testing conducted by the Special Pathogens Laboratory, confirming their effectiveness in preventing pathogen growth. You can access the results here: https://lnkd.in/etEXxVb. #HDPE #DeltaCooling #CoolingTowers #LegionnairesDisease #PublicHealth

💚 Introducing you to the Vinco-MedWipe with a unique formulation. Most conventional products have formulations that are based on actives such as QUAT, PHMB, Amine, Triamine, and Chlorine which can all aid antimicrobial resistance. Testing has also shown that these only provide limited efficacy and spectrum for disinfection where killed or injured organisms are still viable to potentially mutate to superbugs or transfer their resistance elsewhere. Some of these actives can also be harmful to humans, animals and the environment as well as being corrosive to skin, surfaces and equipment. Using the Vinco®-MedWipe with a unique disinfection formula you can be sure that you can carry out safe cleaning and disinfection, also knowing the MedWipe safeguards users from today's infection risks. Vinco®-MedWipe also prevents mutation and reduces antimicrobial resistance [AMR] and protects our antibiotics as well as human, animal & environmental health. #Vinco #medwipe #hcinnovations

18th to 24th Nov is World Antimicrobial Resistance week. If you eat meat, especially poultry, then you must take note if it. In the absence of effective action, antibiotic resistance is projected to claim 39 million lives between 2025 and 2050. But despite the issue being discussed at the highest political and scientific levels, it is yet to resonate with the common people, a prerequisite for a whole-of-society response. The simplest thing you can do is to stop eating meat from animals reared with antibiotic. Opt for meat from pasture raised animals. Credits to CSE for driving the change: https://lnkd.in/gJ39S_sA

Biosafety and Biosecurity Month Day 4 What is Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)? AMR occurs when microbes, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites evolve to resist the drugs and disinfectants designed to kill them, rendering treatments ineffective. This is an ongoing and growing problem globally caused by the many factors including overuse and over prescription of antibiotics for one. This link provides a great overview of AMR. https://lnkd.in/gwyj4WvM #biosafety #antimicrobialresistance ##biosecurity
