nova-Institut GmbH’s Post

Exciting news! There is a new certificate and label available for the share of renewable carbon in your product! TÜV AUSTRIA and nova-Institute had been comissioned by the Renewable Carbon Initiative to develop the "𝐎𝐊 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧" 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞. Whether packaging, cars or consumer goods, textiles, sports equipment or personal care products, cosmetics or medicines – they all have one thing in common: They are made entirely or partially from the multi-talent carbon. However, more than 90 percent of this carbon is still extracted from fossil resources such as crude oil, natural gas or coal – and sooner or later ends up in the atmosphere, further fuelling the climate. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 #𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐬, #𝐂𝐎₂ 𝐚𝐧𝐝 #𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲. #Defossilisation and #RenewableCarbonEconomy are new terms that have been circulating for a few years now and will fundamentally change the world of chemicals, plastics and other materials! 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 “𝐎𝐊 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧” 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓Ü𝐕 𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐀 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝! The certificate and label will be introduced by Philippe Dewolfs during the Renewable Materials Conference (11 to 13 June in Siegburg, Germany), and the first products will be awarded in an official ceremony.
