A look at what was revealed in #Remini to change the future of the #construction_industry#Tekna_2024 - a bright future for the #ceramic, brick and #sanitary porcelain #design and production industry
• Introduction
Tekna International Exhibition, with the theme of presenting technologies and industrial machinery of production lines, which was recently held in Rimini, Italy, once again established its position as a leading event in the world by introducing optimal technologies in energy consumption, development paths and holding targeted business meetings. This organized event, with the presence of more than 350 exhibiting brands and visitors from more than 100 countries, marked an impressive gathering.
• Focus on innovation and sustainability
One of the main axes of the important event was to focus on innovation and sustainability in the industry of design, production and development of products. The participants drew a different vision of this industry by presenting forward-looking solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, digitization, energy saving and sustainability in production. Among these innovations, we can mention furnaces with alternative energy sources, advanced and automatic production lines with optimal pollutants and applications for smart decoration.
• The importance of collaborations international
Tekna once again showed the importance of international cooperation in the surface industry. More than 1,600 business meetings were held with buyers from 36 countries, which provided opportunities for cooperation and joint ventures. In the meantime, the African continent, with the strong presence of representatives from different countries, once again raised the growing importance of this global market in international forums.
• Side events and conferences
In addition to the main exhibition, various side events were also held on the sidelines of this course. The opening conference provided valuable insights about the geopolitical dynamics affecting the exports of Italian companies with the analysis of experts. On the other hand, the Decortech conference attracted a lot of attention by focusing on technologies and creativity in #decoration_design.
• A bright future not so far away
This event, focusing on education, showed a bright view of the not-so-distant years. The presence of students from various technical institutions and the holding of events with the theme of "Green jobs and skills" is a proof of the importance of investing in specialized and skilled human resources for future generations.
• Conclusion
Tekna 2024 has taken an important step towards sustainable development in this industry by presenting the latest technological achievements, creating opportunities for international communication and focusing on learning skills, which is a precursor to a huge transformation in our world. This event was a reflection of the future image of this field based on innovation, sustainability and cooperation.

Reflecting on an event at the Dutch Business Lounge in Stockholm this April. With 15 pioneering Dutch companies, we dove deep into the opportunities within Northern Europe’s bustling construction and real estate sectors.
Nordbygg is the largest and most dynamic meeting place for the construction and real estate industry in Northern Europe.
Alongside 15 Dutch companies and our collaborating partners, we organized an exciting program to explore business opportunities in the Nordics.
Highlights from our participants:
🎯“This trade mission was not only an opportunity for Dutch companies to expand their network, but also a platform to gain invaluable insights into the Nordic market.”
🤝 “The proactive engagement of our participants and the collaborative spirit fostered throughout the event contributed significantly to the overall success.”
🚀 “Nordbygg was an amazing experience, in which the companies on the Dutch Pavilion got a clear insight on where they should look for an entry in the Swedish market and whom to contact.”
On average, companies acquired eight leads from which they anticipate concrete follow-up. 87% of participants expect to sign a contract as a result of their participation.

BuiltWorlds went to Tokyo for the first time last year to host the inaugural Tokyo Summit, which saw innovators, decision makers and thought leaders from across the AEC industry come together to learn about and discuss the chief challenges and opportunities defining the Asia-Pacific construction market. It was such a success we decided to do it again this year. And we couldn't be more excited.
With the help of our partners in the region—Kajima and Shimizu Corporation—we're aiming to make this year's Tokyo Summit a step up from 2023's, with jobsite tours, site visits, a thorough content schedule, and a deep roster of presenters, panelists and attendees that represents the AEC industry's best and brightest, both regionally and internationally.
In the months leading up to the October event, we'll be continuing to book speakers. But already we've secured experts from Consigli Construction Co., Inc., Zite, Zacua Ventures, Undivided Ventures, Great Wave Ventures, Bouygues Asia, HENSEL PHELPS, Voyage Control, Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corp, Hitachi Construction Machinery, and of course both Kajima and Shimizu.
We hope you'll join us again or for the first time this year in Tokyo as we work to better understand and ultimately connect the region's AEC industry!

The first DeCo Round Table discussion took place today! The topic was sustainable design for business and it was introduced by Jussi Korhonen from Arctic Factory | Palvelumuotoilu. We discussed the challenges, cooperation and opportunities there are in sustainable business around Europe. We noticed that there are similar problems as well as opportunities for change everywhere. The most important takeaway: We are not alone in this. Cooperation, discussion and sharing can make all the difference. This is a good start.
DeCo – Design Collaboration for Sustainable Business – is an Interreg Europe project which aims at improving local, regional and national development policies in sustainable and circular design, production and manufacturing. This is achieved through the exchange of experience, innovative approaches and capacity building.

Bengt Magnussen, Commercial Director of TALO spoke at the International Offsite Summit this week, which was co-hosted by BUILDOFFSITE. The session examined successful international models for delivering new housing and how this insight can be applied to the UK.
With TALO’s Nordic heritage, Bengt shared lessons from Finland and looked at why around 70% of all new homes there are manufactured offsite.
Some key takeaways:
🏘 In Finland, the main driver for offsite is the extreme climate.
🏘 With temperatures as low as -50°, there is a clear need for exceptional thermal efficiency and to reduce work on site in the extreme cold.
🏘 This contrasts with drivers for MMC in the UK which are the challenges facing construction – skills shortages, lack of productivity, substandard quality, and rising demand for new housing.
🏘 There is no mass housing in Finland.
🏘 The majority of new homes there are developed privately. This drives high quality, design flexibility and cost efficiency. These are not constraints for offsite in Finland!
🏘 Dry timber processes from forest, sawmill and factory to site ensure timber superstructures are watertight and airtight – which eliminates snagging.
With thanks to the session Chair, Andrew Pryke and the other speakers - Ewelina Wozniak-Szpakiewicz, PhD, Pascal Chazal, Damien Crough, Professor Wei PAN and Sherman Yip.
An absolutely brilliant session. 👏
