📢 New Working Paper Can additional school resources and autonomy help bridge socioeconomic status (SES) achievement gaps? José Mesquita Gabriel and Luis Catela Nunes analyze the TEIP program—a Portuguese compensatory education initiative—and uncover intriguing findings: 🔹 A negative stigma effect: Higher SES families are less likely to enroll their children in treated schools. 🔹 ⁠No measurable impact on blindly-marked exam scores.
