The star of the show isT.J. Sharpe and the reality of why we are still having this exhaustive conversation... is because of courageous humans like you and bewildered humans like me! Thank you so very much for changing my focus when I heard you speak for the first time almost 9 years ago. There is simply no more appropriate perspective than the lived human clinical trial participant and healthcare human experience in demonstrating the WHY NOT!! Informed decision making requires a commitment to ensuring the timely sharing of linked health data generated by patients/study participants wherever they are on their care journey and helps all stakeholders understand the patient experience, the evolution of patient safety, product effectiveness over time and valuable evidence generation. Solutions to ensure a risk-based, meaningful, pro-active, ethical approaches/options for the return of individual participant data and lay summaries demonstrates reciprocity, respect and partnership, requires global harmonization and flexibility and has the ability to transform the cultural thinking about what is possible when we critically think and re-think about our shared mutual objectives, reducing burden on health systems and patients to accelerate medicines development. Essential to ensuring the sustainability of R&D and improving global health equity. Providing pragmatic personalized options which matter most to patients and their care providers and securing mechanisms that will facilitate the convergence of clinical care and clinical research is no longer an option. #DIA2024 Session #373 Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard (MRCT Center) Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) Facilitate Project TransCelerate BioPharma Inc. 🚀 #CNSSummit2024 - I’M BACK! Not everyone knows, but SEQSTER’s journey is closely tied to the CNS Summit. Huge thanks to my friend and CNS Summit Chairman & Founder, AMIR KALALI, MD, who believed in SEQSTER early on and helped us secure our first seed funding. In 2017, Amir invited me to share our dream of putting patients at the center—connecting them and researchers with their complete health data. A year later, in 2018, we made health data history by demonstrating SEQSTER's power to unify health records from four different health systems, #DNA data, and remote patient monitoring—all seamlessly integrated into a single longitudinal record with none other than the famous Eric Topol, MD who tweeted it out to his followers. Dr. Topol’s #healthdata from 1985 to the present showcased the future of connected health and that’s when #SEQSTER truly found its place on the map. The CNS community embraced us, except for one voice who challenged our mission, sparking a fire that only strengthened my resolve. That moment proved we had something game-changing. True innovation initially can be viewed with a lot of skepticism, especially when it is solving a monumental problem like data interoperability. Years later, we’re impacting lives at scale and partnering with the top companies in life sciences. It is with this shared history in mind that I’m so proud to be returning to where we came out of stealth and reconnecting with our CNS family—let’s keep pushing boundaries! Looking forward to seeing everyone in #Boston next week. #DigitalHealth #ClinicalTrials #PatientCentric #Interoperability #Innovation #Relentless

Feeling grateful, in both heart and mind. In our clinical trial we showed one can learn to make a physiological shift out of threat mode into parasympathetic (safety/peace) dominance with HRV biofeedback in veterans over 6 weeks. One can attach the physiological shift to shifting an emotion out of fear (sympathetic nervous system) and compared to a control group participant veterans were able to do this physiologically. Equally importantly, they were able to retain the skill of shifting 2 months later with HR/HRV monitoring equipment when asked, 'do what you were trained to do'. In the clinic, I make a point that it's not engaging with 'your happy place', because that's difficult with a new metastatic cancer diagnosis or new quadriplegia. It's not a 'relaxation' response, nor is it remembering to be grateful in your head. By stopping and engaging your diaphragm muscle properly to induce resonance you first shift your physiology, then move up and shift emotion to 'feeling' grateful for something or someone in your heart. Are you able to walk or sit at a table today? Have bowel and bladder control? Are you not working today and around people who care? Can you physiologically feel grateful? If you are overwhelmed and you cannot right now, know it is a safe, low resource, evidence based skill you can learn and keep prior to next Thanksgiving. Then, possibly decide to express it out loud. Stop, Shift & Decide. #gratitude #thanksgiving #autonomicrehabilitation #parasympathetichealth #hrv

While the Alzheimer's disease research community is actively discussing about the clinical implementation of the blood-based biomarkers (BBBM), Disease-Modifying Therapies (DMTs), and the recently revised criteria for diagnosing and staging Alzheimer's disease (AD)—where AD is defined as a biological process that begins with neuropathologic changes even in asymptomatic individuals—I'm reminded of a reflection attributed to Aldous Huxley: “Medical science has made such tremendous progress that there is hardly a healthy human left.” It will be fascinating to follow the progress of clinical trials using anti-Aβ mAbs in cognitively healthy participants with amyloid accumulation in the brain. Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona is participating in the AHEAD 3-45 Study, evaluating the efficacy and safety of Lecanemab in such participants. https://lnkd.in/dgYv2Ar6
