🌍 WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T CHANGE THE WORLD? Earth Day 2024 🌱 Make every day Earth Day! Every day we dedicate to #environmental efforts – even in small steps – is a valuable day. Together, we can all make a contribution. Join in and reduce your ecological footprint! In #logistics, the avoidance of emissions and the #sustainable use of resources play a crucial role in #GreenLogistics. The reuse of standardized Euro pallets in the open pallet exchange pool, thoughtful planning of transport routes, and the use of environmentally friendly transport modes such as rail transport significantly contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions. ♻ Some measures are easy to implement, while others may require a bit more effort. But #nature and the #climate will thank us. 💚 #EURinOval #europallet #openpool #railtfreight #railcore #EarthDay #HolzrettetKlima #

🌍 As #COP16 is well underway in Cali, Colombia, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) published an interview with our Executive Director Stefanie Lang. F.A.Z.’s Dr. Katja Gelinsky LL.M. sat down with Stefanie to discuss what is at stake at this summit, as well as the unique contribution LLF makes to global nature conservation. Here are our key takeaways: 🌿 Urgent Need for Funding in Biodiversity Hotspots: There is a significant financial gap in conservation efforts, particularly in biodiversity-rich regions of the Global South like Colombia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These biodiversity hot spots are essentially "biodiversity banks," essential for the preservation and regeneration of ecosystems. 🌿 LLF's Role in Protecting Biodiversity and Climate: With biodiversity loss threatening both ecosystems and the global economy, the Legacy Landscape Fund (LLF) offers a proven, high-impact funding model. LLF is already supporting 15 key landscapes across Latin America, Asia, and Africa. By bringing together public and private donors, the fund directly advances COP16’s goals of biodiversity protection, climate stability, and sustainable conservation, while also enhancing local livelihoods. #COP16 #Biodiversity #NatureConservation #LegacyLandscapesFund #Sustainability #IndigenousPeoples #ClimateAction #ConservationFinancing

We are incorporating biodiversity and expanding our focus beyond CO₂ as we launch a new roadmap at Building Green DK! Sinus Lynge, Mikkel Schlesinger and Steffen Maagaard will once again take the Main Stage at Forum on Wednesday, October 30th – this time with an expanded roadmap. This year’s theme for Building Green not only stems from Reduction Roadmap 2.0 and the more than 630 industry stakeholders who joined the campaign to demand a lower CO₂ cap than politicians were willing to agree to. The theme, 'Beyond the Roadmap', is also the headline for the upcoming new roadmap from EFFEKT, CEBRA, and Artelia Denmark, outlining what needs to be done – and how fast we need to act – to ensure biodiversity is considered alongside CO₂ reduction initiatives. It all takes place at Forum in Copenhagen on the 30th at 3:10 PM. Register for free here: https://lnkd.in/d8wvjrv We look forward to launching a new research-based roadmap for the green transition that the construction industry can follow to meet the Paris Agreement while also supporting biodiversity both on-site and off-site during new construction. Reduction Roadmap 2.0 is supported by Realdania. The report 'Beyond the Roadmap' is supported by Realdania and DREYERS FOND.

This remarkable potential corresponds to more than six times the global CO2 emissions in 2022, showcasing the immense impact of effective forest management. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥? At Ecobal, we are dedicated to transforming former agricultural or barren lands into thriving ecosystems that sequester CO2 from the atmosphere through soil and vegetation restoration. This study underscores the importance of our mission and reinforces the need for comprehensive restoration efforts to achieve meaningful environmental outcomes. 🔍 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭? The ETH Zurich study demonstrates that restoring degraded lands and reforesting existing areas can significantly boost CO2 sequestration. At Ecobal, we incorporate these insights into our projects, ensuring that our restoration efforts are both effective and sustainable. 🌿 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥'𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: ➡ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: We transform former agricultural or barren lands into ecosystems that sequester CO2, contributing to a healthier planet. ➡ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲: Our projects support diverse plant and animal life, creating robust and resilient ecosystems. ➡ 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬: Through soil and vegetation restoration, we turn barren lands into thriving natural landscapes. 📊 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐔𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: At Ecobal, we believe in the power of reforestation and restoration to revitalize nature. More Trees, Less Cement: Building a Greener Future Together As we move forward into a future defined by sustainability, the importance of prioritizing green spaces over concrete jungles has never been clearer. Planting trees isn’t just an act of beautification; it’s a necessary step in combating urban heat, improving air quality, and fostering biodiversity. Each tree we plant contributes to a healthier planet by sequestering carbon, enhancing soil health, and supporting local ecosystems. Sustainability is not just about reducing emissions; it's about creating environments where nature and human development can coexist harmoniously. The trend is clear: cities and corporations are increasingly recognizing the need to integrate green infrastructure with urban development. Concepts like green roofs, urban forests, and open green spaces are gaining momentum worldwide, aiming to reshape urban landscapes. As we witness the ongoing shift towards sustainable practices, let’s champion policies that promote more trees and less cement. Together, we can inspire a generation that values our natural resources, leading to a resilient and sustainable future. #Sustainability #GreenInfrastructure #UrbanForests #EnvironmentalResponsibility #FutureGenerations #EcoFriendly

When we think about sustainability and how we can go for a more sustainable world and preserve the natural environment and biodiversity, I think we should revisit and rediscover how people of the past related to Nature. They truly respected Nature as their living, survival and well-being depended on the natural resources they possessed. We should integrate this knowledge into our technology led civilization in order to build a sustainable world. #sustainability #biodiversity
