This year, we were thrilled to host colleagues from across India, coming together to reflect on our collective journey. Meeting with over 100 team members at our all-hands brought into perspective the hard work we’ve poured into launching new products, achieving key milestones in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale, and strengthening our shared goals. A key highlight was our discussion on our culture statement, 𝐀𝐂𝐄-𝐈𝐓, and the profound value it holds for every individual. The Power of Well-Knit Teams I still remember when we had to implement the product solution for one of our clients which is a one of the leading Automobile manufacturing companies of India. The project had already faced delays due to a parallel transformation of the client’s financial systems, and the deadline was tight. On top of it, some core stakeholders from the client end had moved out. This made decision making disoriented and we were fighting against time to make the project live. Even though things were tough at first, our team worked together amazingly well. We talked openly, helped each other, and were really committed to getting the job done. That culture of working together, seeing each other daily and spending breaks sharing thoughts face to face had created a tighter bond and the team members wanted to back each other, when needed. The Lesson I learned while working on this project- A great team isn't just about having smart people; it’s about creating a place where everyone works closely with each other. Such challenges make people frustrated but when they feel trusted by their peers, valued by their managers, and have a common goal, they can do amazing things. Just had to repost this! Imagine a world where people received this type of love and admiration and warm welcome. More importantly, imagine a world where the CEOs are SO GOOD at what they do that the team feels compelled authentically to take the time and effort to create this type of welcome. I don’t know about you all- but what I have experienced is that these types of CEOs are few and far between. There is a vast difference between management and leadership. It’s up to all of the CEOs and those in management positions to not just know the difference, but actually embody and live the difference. Old school management is so passe. Everyone could take a lesson from these leaders. Do you want to be welcomed this way because you have EARNED the respect, or do you want to be welcomed this way because you demand it? 1st April brings about the new #financial year in India. As I reflect internally on the year gone by we expect our people to be #accountable , have an #ownership #mindset, #collaborate with the #team, be #leaders. They have to do all this while they are called #employees of the company. This is counter intuitive. As they say, the #change must start at the top. Starting today every person working at the Printmann Group and Pakcellence Pvt Ltd. will be called a #teammember and not an #employee. Each and everyone will have a team member contract, not an employee contract. What is the #difference between being a Team Member vs being an Employee : - ‘WE’ vs ‘I’ - A team is a group of people who work #together as a unit to meet common goals and tend to focus on a 'we' #mentality, which is key to #successful collaboration at work. Whereas an employees work with an 'I' mentality, meaning that there may be very little collaboration between each employee. Team Members work ‘with’ a company and Employees work ‘for’ a company - A team member is likely to align their #values with the company, seeking to grow themselves and think of new pathways for the company to grow. They are irreplaceable members of the business. Alternatively, employees tend to believe that they are simply working for the business rather than fulfilling an integral role in the system. They are small parts of the system because they are dependable and are likely to produce the same work at the same quality Passion work vs Project work – A team member takes in any task and passionately fulfils it with the team to align it with the #vision of the company which results in greater #productivity and collaboration. A employee treats task like a project for individual glory and doesn’t align to what the company may need at that time leading to non-harmony amongst the team. With this change , we hope to move closer to achieve our vision of 'Being the Worlds Most Preferred Packaging Company'.
