I. I believe in the magical power of. Being in the outdoors of the experience that you gain from being outside. And that you only get to experience that magic if you are outside. There are projects that are all across the board, so I deeply believe that my purpose. Is to create impact. From the The whole reason about coming to deep and the reason I came to work for Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was purely. To create positive impact, particularly for communities and for people that are underserved in Connecticut projects. And so you're going to get a lot of different experiences and a lot of different skill sets growing up and visiting state parks, walking through state parks or driving through state parks. I never really thought of all of the work that it takes to keep in this park up. There are not a lot of black and brown people in this industry, not because they don't have any interest, but just because of lack of exposure to me. I'm a black and brown staff, born and raised in the box. Never, ever thought that that was an industry or an option for me. So being a part of the process of allowing people of different cultural backgrounds be able to have that experience. Was heartwarming for me. You know the petty all which is the leaf stock, so sort of the stem of the leaf. So off that node you'll see sort of a stem before the leaf starts. Some plants have petioles, some plants do not This one's really cool. This one's a floating plant. This one's not this one's not in the ground. This one like can just float on down the river. I saw the flyer back in March when I was looking for work for the deep program and went right into the. Training and enjoyed it a lot. Got some hands on work with the OSHA and also with the. The cross. It's been been a real eye opening experience. Not very challenging work. But, uh, just a tremendous amount of support from the state. And it's just a really great experience with a lot of nice people. Is a big sucker. The weight rating should be on the head. This is a 10 LB long handled sledgehammer. My name is Kate Frederick, I am part of this new seasonal deep work crew and I'm very very excited about this opportunity. I started going into nature at a very young age. My mother is an earth science teacher and was always very passionate about getting me and my sister outdoors. Camping, hiking, being able to be part of invasive species removal projects helping. If you outline the our natural parks and areas and. Make sure that our parks are accessible and beneficial for those who want to recreate in them is such an amazing opportunity. I have been incredibly impressed by the work that each person on this team has been doing, and I'm excited for them to move forward within Deep and for us to consider and to figure out how to expand this kind of a program.
