However, it’s essential to understand the potential pitfalls to ensure the health and well-being of the rabbits and maximize productivity. Here are ten things to avoid in rabbit rearing: 1. Overcrowding: Avoid keeping too many rabbits in a confined space as it can lead to stress, aggression, and the spread of diseases. 2. Poor Ventilation: Inadequate airflow can result in respiratory issues and the buildup of harmful gases like ammonia. Ensure proper ventilation in rabbit housing. 3. Inadequate Nutrition: Rabbits require a balanced diet rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Avoid feeding only pellets and incorporate hay, fresh greens, and occasional treats. How do we support our local farmers? 🤔 Farmers are the pillars of our community. They dedicate themselves to supplying us with fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, meat, and more. Without their relentless efforts, we wouldn't enjoy the wholesome food that nourishes us daily. It's essential to recognize and back our farmers by standing with them and endorsing their efforts. #sustainableagriculture #agriculturetraining #farmlife #agricultureeducation #supportfarmers #agriculturist #africanfarming #nigeria #nigeriaagriculture #farmtofork #organicfarming

Unusually for me this post will not feature my favourite crop. Although hemp seeds are an amazing source of protein, amino acids and all three omega oils, it will not be enough to survive on alone. Which is why I am using my one post today to support and celebrate the work of those who grow our food. More specifically organisations like the Goodery. The Goodery is a Community Supported Agriculture Scheme or CSA. This means that they help us all get regular, local and seasonal access to fresh fruit and vegetables. In an age where the words "cost of living crisis" are throw around with few solutions to follow, I can see the very real need for CSAs. Farmers in this country are doing an amazing job of growing what we need, but they are under enormous strain to meet targets and to stay afloat. Perhaps if we stopped exporting grain grown on land suited to more biodiverse cropping, and began seeing more of us getting back on to the land, farming on all scales could become our national obsession. After the sheer number of people I have heard talking about living a simpler life with lower bills and access to the outdoors, surely small scale farming makes a huge amount of sense? Access to land and skills are barriers, but with awareness and education cmes opportunity. So, if you have land that the Goodery could make good use of, please reach out to them via their website contact form and help secure Norfolk's food future: https://lnkd.in/eA_kC8nu
