#FutureSummit Newyork The Summit of the Future (22-23 September) is a high-level event bringing together world leaders to forge a new international consensus on delivering a better present and safeguarding the future. Effective global cooperation is critical to our survival but difficult to achieve in an atmosphere of mistrust, using outdated structures that no longer reflect today’s political and economic realities. The Summit will adopt three agreements: a Pact for the Future, a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations.

Strategic Intelligence is among the excellent tools I use as a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum to discover, explore, and interact with interconnected industries.

As an educator and researcher, I’m always on the lookout for tools that foster deeper understanding and new insights. Recently, I had the opportunity to explore the Strategic Intelligence Outlook Map, and it’s been nothing short of transformative. Using the map, I was able to connect themes across content areas, visualized beautifully through this tool, and pair it with related literature it generates. This journey led me to develop a study on systems thinking in relation to language learning—an intersection that has immense potential for reimagining education. This exploration also contributed to an article I coauthored with Breanne Pitt, where we delved into the applications of systems thinking in education. The ability to see connections, patterns, and underlying frameworks through tools like this has opened doors to new research ideas and practical applications. For teachers and researchers alike, this is a must-have resource for expanding perspectives and finding creative solutions to complex challenges. In 2024, #ESGinnovations are playing a crucial role in redefining business strategies on a global scale. One of the most impactful changes is the increasing emphasis on "double materiality" in #sustainabilityreporting, especially in Europe. Under the new CSRD, around 50,000 companies, including many from outside Europe, must disclose financial and impact materiality (World Economic Forum). This means reporting not only on financial and material sustainability issues but also on the societal and environmental implications of their business operations.

Announcement of a partnership between Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strenghthen the efforts to eradicate polio still endemic in two countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan. After more than 20 year support for polio eradication, contributions to CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) endeavour, a new $500 million pledge from KSA has been welcome. The foundation will establish a regional office in Ryad to support the polio and other regional programmes. Children under 5 mortality has been halved in 20 years and is still 4,9 million deaths a year. To face the risk of unraveling the progress being made, the goal is to keep improving health services and to provide vaccines to 370 million children. Bill Gates stated the overall effort aims at : - contributing to a safe and healthy Hajj pilgrimage - buiding new vaccines cababilities - responding to urgent humanitarian crisis - fortifying the world against new pandemics with the ripple effect of less poverty, higher education and economic development. #WorldImmunizationWeek #Preparedness #PolioEradication #VaccinesCapability #GlobalPubliHealth

XVI European Economic Congress (Europejski Kongres Gospodarczy) is slowly coming to a closure. 🤝 It has been great intense three days of meetings, discussion panels and networking sessions dedicated to different aspects of our economy. It is always good to catch up with clients, peers and business partners and to see that the sentiment in the M&A market still remains moderately optimistic. ✍ Despite all the geopolitical and macroeconomic concerns impacting the CEE the market players continuously express their appetite for investments in the region. Certain new market trends and developments such as: ESG, regulatory scrutiny or impact investing could be perceived equally as a challenge but also as an opportunity for the business. 💡 Great to hear that transaction solutions are increasingly playing a greater role in streamlining the transactional processes and helping to push the deals across the finish line.   See you all next year!
