Things I won't feel guilty about anymore #7: Applying for jobs that list things I CAN do but will outright tell them I WON'T do as part of my daily job. I want to do graphic design. It's where I'm happiest. Do you want a #GraphicDesigner, or do you want a #WholeDamnCreativeTeam where you only have to pay one salary? Do you want someone who will take your brand and deliverables and make it look good, or do you want someone who will be too busy doing motion graphics, UX, product design, video, photography, and 20 other separate career paths? #JobSeeker #JobSeeking #JobPosting #PickACareerPath #CreativesAreNotMeantToBeAWholeTeamOfOne

At least these guys eventually got the flarkin' idea and updated the job description to fit their bespoke needs. 👏 "Job description... Update: We are looking for designers who can work work with displaying data, graphs, charts, numbers, etc. We have received many applications from great designers but they are more artistic. We are displaying data clearly and concisely, Please show examples of this, in your application." P.S. I'm sure there are other companies out there that should follow this good example. 🖖 They don't need a graphic designer, artist, DTP operator, visual designer, UI or UX designer, video editor, photographer, 3D visualizer, or a secretary, all crammed in the same position. 😵💫 I'm a generalist, but even I know what the Division of Labor stands for. I'm old, and this concept is relatively new to modern economic systems. 🧐 #VARatelier | #CreativeThinker | #DivisionOfLabor | #Specialization | #Productivity | #Efficiency | #WorkplaceOrganization | #Industrialization | #TaskManagement | #WorkFlow | #ProcessImprovement | #OperationalEfficiency | #Labor | #WorkplaceStrategy | #SkillDevelopment #WorkplaceInnovation |#BusinessProcesses | #JobRoles

🎨 What is a Senior Graphic Designer? A senior graphic designer is more than just a seasoned professional—they’re leaders in their craft. With years of experience, they create impactful designs, manage teams, and drive projects forward. Their work transcends aesthetics, offering strategic and effective visual communication solutions. But here’s the challenge: Many job postings today expect senior designers to also excel in motion graphics, video editing, 3D modeling, and UX design—all at once. While expanding skill sets is great, these expectations risk diluting the essence of the role and undervaluing the depth of expertise needed to truly excel in graphic design. 💡 A senior graphic designer should be celebrated for their: ✔️ Mastery of design principles ✔️ Strategic thinking ✔️ Leadership and mentorship ✔️ Ability to deliver creative solutions that align with business goals Bonus skills are a plus, but they shouldn’t overshadow the core of what this role represents. Are we asking too much of senior designers today? Let’s rethink and redefine this role to focus on what truly matters. 💬 What’s your take? Share your thoughts below! 👇 #GraphicDesign #DesignLeadership #CreativeCareers #DesignThinking #ProfessionalGrowth #SeniorDesigner #VisualCommunication #CreativeStrategy

A senior graphic designer is more than just an experienced professional—they’re leaders in their field, with years of expertise in creating impactful designs, managing teams, and driving projects forward. Their work goes beyond aesthetics, solving problems through strategic and effective visual communication. "3 things you must know before hiring a graphics designer" 1. Portfolio and Style Match: Review the designer's portfolio to ensure their style aligns with your vision. A designer's past work will give you insight into their creativity, technical skills, and ability to deliver designs that match your brand's aesthetic. 2. Communication and Collaboration Skills: Effective communication is key in any design project. Ensure the designer is open to feedback and can clearly explain their design choices. A good designer should be able to understand your needs and collaborate with you to achieve the best results. 3. Experience and Expertise: Consider the designer's experience, especially in your industry or with similar projects. Experienced designers bring valuable insights and can anticipate potential challenges, leading to smoother project execution and higher-quality outcomes. #graphicdesign #graphicdesigner #hiring #thumbnail #thumbnaildesigner #socialmediapost #socialmediapostdesigner
