Excited to share this success story from Ultisana Supplements! We're honored to be a part of their incredible journey in sustainability and are inspired by their thoughtful approach to serving the Hispanic-American community. Their commitment goes far beyond typical corporate environmental initiatives - from their innovative use of aluminum packaging to their meaningful solar energy partnerships in Haiti and Honduras through Brighten Haiti and Hogar Enmanuel. What stands out to me is how Ultisana Supplements has aligned its sustainability efforts with its community's values. "Sustainability isn't on the agenda, it is the agenda." ~Lars Holmquist Tetra Pak has announced the launch of its #ApproachToNature - a comprehensive framework that defines our company’s contribution to halting and reversing nature loss and enhancing water security. Nature is deteriorating at rates unprecedented in human history, largely due to human activity. Global food systems are identified as the main drivers of nature loss, with wide-reaching impacts that threaten global economies, livelihoods and food security. Tetra Pak’s ‘Approach to Nature’ aims to manage the impacts of our company’s value chain on nature and to support the restoration of ecosystems. https://lnkd.in/d3ctjqma

Access to basic #sanitation is something many of us take for granted today. But around the world, ~3.6 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 – 46% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝'𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – lack adequate sanitation services. One of this year’s finalists for the F. M. Kirby Prize for Scaling Impact, Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods (SOIL) has worked in Haiti over the past 14 years to address sanitation – and related #safety and human #dignity – rights for the country’s most vulnerable urban communities. SOIL provides container-based toilets, demonstrated to withstand weather events in that region, to families and then creates compost from the waste which is used to enrich the severely depleted soil throughout the region and also reduces CO2 emissions. Learn more about SOIL’s strengths and scaling strategies below! F. M. Kirby Foundation, Inc., Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, CASE at Duke #WASH #sanitation #Haiti

On this International Environmental Day, let us affirm that environmental consciousness transcends mere observance of a date on the calendar; it permeates every aspect of our lives. At LIÁ we embody this ethos in every action we take. With each sunrise and sunset, we are attuned to the heartbeat of nature, our souls entwined with the rhythm of the earth. It is a journey fueled by love, a labor of passion, driven by an unyielding commitment to the well-being of our planet. As Carlo Petrini eloquently stated, "farmers are the custodians of Mother Nature," entrusted with safeguarding our collective future. 🌿 Live with consciousness. 🌿 Think of the environment, consume with awareness. 🌿Support farmers, nurture the Earth. 🌿Take care, for every action echoes in the world we share! #WorldEnviromentalDay #EveryDay #Enviroment #Sustainability #SlowFood #CarloPetrini #Protect #Biodiversity #Farmers #OliveGrove #EVOO #LIAOliveOil

As the director of Mevisha, I am keenly aware of the vital role that water plays in sustaining life and supporting our environment. On World Water Day, it is crucial to recognize the profound importance of water in all aspects of our lives. Water is not only essential for drinking, but it is also crucial for agriculture, sanitation, industry, and the overall health of ecosystems. Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, yet millions of people around the world still lack access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities. As a global community, it is imperative that we work together to conserve and manage water resources responsibly, ensuring equitable access for all while protecting the planet for future generations. At Mevisha, we are committed to promoting water conservation efforts and developing sustainable solutions to address water challenges, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable world for everyone.

🌿✨ 𝐍𝐓𝐅𝐏-𝐄𝐏 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐔𝐂𝐍 𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐢’𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 (𝐍𝐓𝐅𝐏𝐬)! “On behalf of the SULi - IUCN Sustainable Use and Livelihoods Specialist Group, we are delighted to extend our support for the inaugural International Day for Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs). This day offers a crucial platform to highlight the indispensable role that NTFPs play in sustaining livelihoods, particularly for Indigenous Peoples and local communities around the world. NTFPs contribute not only to food security and nutrition but also to income generation, cultural heritage, and environmental resilience – an issue that is becoming ever more prescient with the onset of climate change. SULi recognises that sustainable use of NTFPs is essential to ensuring the livelihoods of millions who live in and around forest areas and depend on functioning forest ecosystems and their biodiversity. NTFPs can also provide critical economic resources for women and marginalised communities, offering a pathway toward economic independence and improved well-being. NTFPs are too often overlooked, and their importance has been consistently undervalued despite the vital role they play providing food, medicinal products, and fuel for millions globally. We commend NTFP-EP and its partners for spearheading this initiative and look forward to continuing our collaboration to promote sustainable livelihoods, support communities, and conserve the forest ecosystems that sustain them.” #InternationalNTFPDay #LinkingPeoplesandForests
