Dear connections, I'm excited to share that our recent research article, "InCl3 Catalyzed Simultaneous Reductive Sulfoximination and O- Silylation: Synthesis of Silyloxy Benzylsulfoximine" has been published in Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry (Royal Society of Chemistry). In this publication, we have explored the synthesis of ortho-silyloxy benzylsulfoximine via the reaction of salicylaldehyde and sulfoximine in the presence of silane and InCl3. The steps include simultaneous reductive sulfoximination and O-silylation process. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first of this kind of reaction, where both reductive amination (here sulfoximination) and O-silylation occurs concurrently. https://lnkd.in/gieeyDeN

"Catalyst-Free, Three-Component Synthesis of Amidinomaleimides" 📚 Summary 👨🏫 A recent study from The Journal of Organic Chemistry, from American Chemical Society - Division of Organic Chemistry presents a new catalyst-free three-component reaction for synthesizing amidinomaleimides. Thanks to the authors from the Gregory Weiss team from UC Irvine. Mechanism Insights 🔬 The reaction proceeds through a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition, starting with the formation of an enamine from the secondary amine and aldehyde. This enamine then reacts with the electrophilic azidomaleimide, forming a triazoline intermediate, which subsequently undergoes ring-opening to yield the amidinomaleimide product. Why It’s Interesting 💡 - Efficiency : The reaction is high-yielding, modular, and works under mild conditions, hence perfect for scalable synthesis. - Versatility : It offers broad substrate scope, making it ideal for creating complex molecules in medicinal chemistry and natural product synthesis. #Chemistry #OrganicChemistry #DrugDevelopment #Amidinomaleimides #MedicinalChemistry

Proud to share my first poster for the 30th International Symposium on the Organic Chemistry of Sulfur (ISOCS) in Florence. To conclude the week, this excellent review of the modern litterature (From 2013 to this year) on the Zincke reaction, written by Bill Motsch & Sarah Wengryniuk (Temple University), highlights how this old reaction found an application in today's chemistry. 🔬 Exciting developments in heterocyclic chemistry ! I recently came across this interesting publication in ACS Organic & Inorganic Au that presents a first-time strategy to access 2-SF5-indoles. This innovative approach relies on the radical addition of SF5Cl to the alkynyl π-system of 2-ethynyl anilines, followed by a cyclization reaction. 🔄 The result ? A telescoped sequence that’s not only appealing but also reproducible on a gram scale. Plus, it allows for easy diversification of N and C3 positions. 🎯 But that’s not all.
