Nov 8, 2024 - Petrina Goh, the CEO of leading parenting technology company Nuren Group shares what drives her vision to use technology to empower parents across Asia. As the leader behind platforms like Motherhood.com.my and the Motherhood Superapp, Goh has not only used AI tools and tech solutions to support parents but has also empowered women through career comeback programs and the growing ’mum influencer’ community. “We know mothers today are looking for trusted and reliable information about being a mum as well as innovative products that are safe for their family. We realised that despite there being so much information out there, there was a gap of reliable information depending on who gatekeepers and curates it,” Petrina Goh says, revealing that her own experience as a mum shaped her resolve to address this market gap through digital technology". Why do parents expect their Children to follow their advice and when they don’t, they feel upset? Parents must understand there is a huge generation gap between the times they were brought up and the current age. Today we are in the Knowledge Zenith age with a huge digital transformation. During the baby boomer era, Children will adjust to parents and elders and now in Centennials, Elders need to adjust to Children. Understand the generation gap and embrace open communication. Stay flexible, keep up with trends, and treat your children as friends to bridge the gap. #ppmm #passionpreneur #Parenting #GenerationGap #DigitalTransformation #OpenCommunication #ParentingTips #FlexibleParenting #ModernParenting #KnowledgeZenith #ParentingAdvice #BridgingTheGap

Elon Musk drops truth bombs that the education system has terrified women about pregnancy, professional life killer … but there’s nothing greater than having a kid.’ But, society hasn’t failed women, themselves & their partners have ! . 70% of working mothers report doing most of the household chores and parenting. . Only 30% of men in dual-income households consider themselves equal partners in parenting. . Studies show that 40% of women delay or avoid motherhood due to fears of lack of support. The biggest barrier to #motherhood isn’t just the workforce or ambition—it’s the lack of true partnership at home. Spouses, not workplaces, often leave women shouldering the invisible load of parenting, making "shared responsibility" a myth in too many households. Motherhood isn’t the end of a woman’s life, but the #wrong #partner can make it feel like it. As a mother of two, entrepreneur, and #investor, I know firsthand that ambition doesn’t stop with kids—it evolves. But it demands a partnership built on equality and shared accountability. Ladies, Gentlemen rise for respect. Treat yourself with kindness and humanity, get treated with respect and love. Build better families, stronger communities, and a future that thrives on shared responsibility . Because motherhood isn’t a burden—it’s a legacy , which compliments a partner. What’s your take? Let’s talk. Rach S Founder MaAvatar| #Investor | Mother of Two young Boys At MaAvatar, we’re reshaping connections, relationships, and even the perception of parenting in the digital age. Because in the metaverse and beyond, family isn’t a limitation—it’s a legacy. The question is: Will we let outdated fears define the future? #techforgood #womenenpowerment #humanity #web3innovation #AIcompanionship #maavatar https://lnkd.in/gQwTFjWp

Most period apps currently available are designed for adult women and include features too mature or irrelevant for younger users. Founder Libby Tanswell-Gidney has launched Ove Care Ltd - a period app designed especially for young girls aged 9-18 years old through their first period and the changes that come with puberty. “Every woman remembers how challenging starting their first period was. That’s why my goal for Ove is for every girl to have the support she needs, right at her fingertips.” Full story: https://lnkd.in/ebRb-fbr

"𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝?" This question, loaded with ingrained expectations about the parental roles of women in India, was what one of my clients faced. She came to me feeling torn between her career aspirations and societal pressures. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐨: First, we addressed the internalized belief that a woman's primary role post-parenthood must be confined to the home. By exploring examples of successful professional women like Ghazal Alagh who are also devoted mothers, we began reshaping her perspective on what's possible. 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Together, we strategized on practical steps she could take to balance work and parenting. This involved setting a flexible work schedule with her employer and arranging reliable childcare. Preparation turned her anxiety into a structured plan of action, boosting her confidence to manage both roles effectively. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦: Recognizing the importance of support, we worked on strengthening her network. This included connecting with other working mothers, joining support groups, and engaging family members to share caregiving responsibilities. Happy fathers -> happy mothers -> happy families! Steps for enabling fathers and facilitating them to become better caregivers are equally necessary as steps for empowering mothers. Enabling fathers would require a joint effort by the whole ecosystem including governments, workplaces, media, educational institutions, influencers and women themselves. Here is a list of actions that each one of these ecosystem players can take –: https://lnkd.in/gm5Xq-JQ #happyfathersday #fathersday2024

Baby Boomer Enrolled Primary Schools (1954) On 5 April 1954, the first baby boom generation entered primary school in Japan. The baby boom was caused by a dramatic increase in the number of couples who returned to normal life after the end of World War II and had children. This phenomenon was common not only in Japan but in many other countries that were under the influence of the war. In the US, the estimated population in 1940 was 132 million, 140 million in 1942-45, and an estimated 76 million, or half that number, were born in 1946-64. The US defines those born between 1946-64 as the 'baby boomer' generation. https://lnkd.in/gb-C8w2u In Japan, approximately 8.1 million people born between 1947-49 are the first baby boom generation, a narrower definition than in the US. This is because the number of births during these three years was around 2.7 million each year, which is outstandingly higher than in other years. The writer Taichi Sakaiya later named it the 'Dankai generation'. In 1954, 2,553,530 children enrolled in primary school, 550,000 more than the previous year. The first editions of Shonen Sunday and Shonen Magazine were published in 1959, when they were in the fourth to sixth grades. #OnThisDay #onthisdayjapan #todayinhistory #babyboomers #きょうは何の日 #第1次ベビーブーム #ベビーブーマー #堺屋太一 #団塊の世代

It may not interest you to know that many girls, boys, and even older people still feel very uncomfortable discussing menstruation. A lot of people also mock girls who are on their period or get stained, while others still believe that cramps and other period discomforts are fake or not as discomforting. Female students in some schools are still being asked to go back home during their period because there are no measures in place to help them manage period discomfort or stains. This is disheartening because the goal is to ensure that menstruation isn’t a barrier to the education and empowerment of girls. Hence, there is a need to continue fostering conversations about menstruation to ensure that everyone feels comfortable talking about it and knows how best to help a girl when she needs it.
