💡 My Favorite “Dumb” Tech 💡 The reMarkable tablet: It doesn’t send emails, browse the web, or sync a hundred apps—it’s just a glorified digital notebook. But you know what? It’s one of the most valuable tools in my setup. 📋 Why? • It keeps me focused—just write, think, and organize. No distractions. • It’s secure by design—nobody can read my handwriting except me! (A built-in encryption feature I didn’t know I had. 🕵️♂️) • Plus, it’s endlessly satisfying to have a single dedicated space for ideas, notes, and planning - and not dozens of notebooks. 📒 I’m a huge advocate for using tech to leverage my time. But sometimes, simple beats smart. Who else loves their reMarkable—or another “low-tech” solution? Let’s hear it! #Productivity #TechTools #Focus #Remarkable #WorkSmarter 🖊️✨

What's your problem? Ever get a feeling that your tech is not working in your favour? Something feels "off" or better yet, people are actually letting you know that something is wrong? What do you do with that? We often make assumptions about what people are saying to us without digging deeper. This can lead to costly mistakes that land us with very expensive technology that is under-utilized, or worse, unnecessary. If your tech is not solving a problem for your target audience or achieving a purpose for your business processes, then it's not the tech you need. So, before charging ahead to redesign your app and website, rewrite your messaging, or transition to a new system, get to know your people. Understand their needs and what's underneath their struggles. Ask yourself "what problem am I trying to solve?". Get to the root of it. Only then can you build something that will remove obstacles and delight your people.

🤔 Here's something counter-intuitive I discovered after deleting every productivity app from my devices last month: Most "productivity work" is just structured procrastination. I had been spending 2+ hours daily maintaining systems—categorizing tasks, updating boards, syncing apps. Classic meta-work that feels important but produces nothing. The real shocker? After switching to a single "MUST.txt" file on my desktop, I completed more actual work in a week than I previously did in a month. No place to hide tasks = tasks got done. What really got me thinking was this: The days I was most productive were the ones where I left a small digital trail. No completed checkboxes. No updated boards. Just smooth, uninterrupted progress. It's as if we've optimized for the feeling of productivity rather than productivity itself. We're running heavy middleware when a lean service will do. Curious: What unnecessary complexity are you maintaining in the name of getting things done?
