In the middle of the CKS exam, I made a huge mistake. I solved the entire question and accidentally deleted the pod without taking a backup. 30 minutes left to finish the exam and a few more questions to solve I had two choices - act smart just run a pod with nginx image and move on to the next question. Keeping calm was essential at that time. I solved that question thinking they might have used an Nginx image to run the pod, and it won't matter in the final check the pod should have implemented security measures in the question. I moved to the next question and did my best to not make the same mistake again and took a backup of all files before solving the question. I will share the detailed exam experience soon. For now, let's celebrate the 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 (𝐂𝐊𝐒) 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. $ kubectl certificate approve Sagar -n CKS $ kubectl auth can-i get CKSrecert --as Sagar -n CKS ~ -> Yes I am happy to share that I have re-certified 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 (𝐂𝐊𝐒)! certification exam issued by The Linux Foundation & Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). After intense preparation and hands-on practice, I conquered the CKS exam again, validating my expertise in securing container-based applications and Kubernetes platforms during build, deployment and runtime. Thank you, everyone, for the well wishes. A series of posts on precautions to take care of and mistakes to avoid during the CKS exam are coming. One more exam to go to join the Kubestronaut program. "Deployment Successful! " I'm thrilled to announce that my CKS certification has been successfully deployed on its third attempt! Link to verify: https://lnkd.in/geWJZeWR Like a pod that wouldn't start, I experienced some crashes (aka failed attempts) but I didn't let that stop me! I kept trying, learning, and pushing forward until I reached my desired state: CERTIFIED! Remember, even in the face of errors, you can always retry and improve. Keep pushing forward, and your persistence will pay off! #CKScertified #Kubernetes #cks #devopsengineer #PerseverancePaysOff"

Starting new year on a positive note. First target of the year achieved 🎯 Finally, I am Certified Kubernetes Application Developer 🎉 https://lnkd.in/dYxXG7XF This exam by The Linux Foundation is purely a Hands-On performance based and requires a lot of practice and perseverance. So only way to conquer this exam is a lot of practice with Linux & Kubernetes playgrounds. Group studies with fellow members of PlatformSecurityDataBabies Group helped a lot. I used below study Materials: 1) Mumshad Mannambeth CKAD course on KodeKloud. 2) Killer.shell scenarios on Killerkoda-https://lnkd.in/dH2QG3-q Kim Wüstkamp 3) A Cloud Guru CKAD practice questions. 4) GitHub CKAD exercises- https://lnkd.in/dtakHEHs 5) EKS playground. Thanks to AWS community builders program and Jason Dunn for AWS credits 😊 You receive two free CKAD exam simulators from the killer shell post registering for the exam, solving these will prepare you best for the actual exam. There is a change in CKAD/ CKA exam and we won't see grades of questions now hence it is very important to solve all questions within stipulated time as we don’t know what wieght is assigned to specific question. Few important tips for aspiring candidates- 1) Time management, it is very crucial to manage time during the exam, so try to solve as many questions from killer.sh as quickly as possible. 2) Create basic aliases required. e.g. export dr="--dry-run=client -o yaml", not necessary to create too many aliases which could create confusion. 3) Make sure to change context and validate your answer. e.g. if you create a POD check if POD is up and running with correct image and satisfies all the requirements of the question, test Network policy by creating POD's and try to curl and check if restrictions are imposed as necessary. #kubernetes #CKAD #CertifiedKubernetesApplicationDeveloper #containerization #newlearnings #upskilling #linuxfoundation

🎖 I am excited to share that I have completed the Kubernetes for Developers course by The Linux Foundation! Kubernetes is a key tool for orchestrating containerized applications across clusters in production environments. This course provided in-depth knowledge on containerizing, hosting, and deploying applications in multi-node Kubernetes clusters, focusing on defining application resources, troubleshooting, networking and security. 🔜 I’m now preparing for the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam, for which this course serves as an essential base. The best way to prepare for the CKAD exam is through hands-on practice. Use 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 (𝗞𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗡 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿), 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗸𝘂𝗯𝗲 for local environments, or Killercoda. ⭐ 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: - Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gWAeDXYV - CKAD exercise: https://lnkd.in/gR8TipnN - Cost: USD $299 ⭐ 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: - Kubernetes architecture - ConfigMaps, Secrets, and Volumes - Pod design and troubleshooting - Multi-node cluster management - Docker and Python integration ☁ Follow me to the cloud - Priyank Vaghela Credly by Pearson's badge: https://lnkd.in/gUwF9_7T #Kubernetes #CKAD #DevOps #Cloud #k8s

Preparing for RHCSA by learning React. Am I insane? Let me walk you through my thought process. 🧭 1. Defining my goal. I believe a good developer should know more than a single OS. Currently I feel comfortable working in Windows, and I have lost my initial fear of Linux. So, next on my bucket list: an RHCSA certification—which, coincidentally, will also be a great way to kickstart my future 'container' skills. 2. Analysing my limitations. Taking my limited experience with Linux into account, I'll probably need to check the man pages extensively during the exam. This means I need to find ways of making up for that extra time. 3. Reviewing the requirements. Making sure my changes will persist through a reboot (required for the exam) I will have to modify some files. I also expect I should be able to create some short BASH scripts during the exam. All of this should be done in VIM. 4. Setting the stage. Logically, I'm going to set my default VSCode editor to VIM. And with React being another item on my bucket list, I'm able to kill two birds with one stone: by learning the basics of React (probably through Udemy), I get plenty of practice with VIM. 5. Pacing my learning. If I focus on a few commands from a VIM Cheat Sheet at a time, this should help me to learn the most important shortcuts by heart, which in turn will save me some precious minutes on the exam. So: insane? Or (ever so slightly) brilliant? 😏
