This is what we are working with at @zebra Workflow and efficiency in all departments and functions in a hospital together with our partners both hardware and software
Director at Nordic Healthcare Group - Developing efficient healthcare service systems and functional hospitals
When we think about healthcare, we often focus on doctors, nurses, and patient care. But a hospital also needs working logistics to support this and keep patients safe. When planning a hospital, we must make sure the right materials are in the right place at the right time. 👚 Laundry services 🍽️ Catering 💊 Medication 🩹 Supplies 🗑️ Waste handling 🧪 Samples transfer 🖥️ Devices management All of this needs to happen smoothly, safely, and without getting in the way of patient care.

Phlebotomy Training💉🩸 (TW: use of needles) Last week a group of nurses at Grove Park Healthcare Limited took part in a Phlebotomy / Venipuncture training course. Delegates completed the course with the knowledge on how to successfully carry out a Phlebotomy or Venipuncture procedure, and also what would be the best course of action to take in the event of complications such as haematoma, fainting or infection. Phlebotomy is important for the investigation of health conditions or concerns. It is crucial that nurses have the knowledge on how to properly carry out this procedure as they will routinely be asked to collect samples of blood to assist general practitioners and laboratories with their diagnosis for treatment purposes. Today is World Hand Hygiene Day! Join us in celebrating this global initiative by WHO to prevent infections. Who should practice hand hygiene? Everyone in patient care—nurses, doctors, technicians, and housekeeping staff. A simple hand rub or soap and water can prevent infections and multi-drug-resistant organisms. Let's protect ourselves, especially immuno-compromised patients and critical areas. Remember: wash hands before & after patient contact, before aseptic procedures, and leaving patient surroundings. 🌍👐 #WorldHandHygieneDay #infectionprevention #patientcare #handhygiene #globalhealth #who #cleanhands #preventinfections #healthcareheroes #nurses #doctors #technicians #housekeepingstaff #infectioncontrol #patientsafety #cleancareissafercare #hygienematters #healthcare #washyourhands #healthyhabits #protectyourself #stopinfections #globalinitiative #publichealth #safecare #ContinentalHospitals #Hyderabad

Some nurses do not consistently use PPE chemotherapy gowns, ESPECIALLY when taking down completed chemotherapy tubing. According to research conducted by the American Industrial Hygiene Association, 42% of nurses involved in chemotherapy administration forego wearing chemotherapy gowns. Despite the proven effectiveness of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in shielding staff from chemotherapy-related hazards, its consistent utilization among nurses remains lacking. The inconsistent use of PPE by staff presents RISKS to healthcare organizations: > Non-compliance with USP <800> and OSHA regulatory standards. > Increased staff exposure to hazardous substances. To enhance chemotherapy safety and regulatory adherence within your healthcare organization, consider asking these key questions: > Does your organization prioritize safe handling of chemotherapy in its protocols? > What ongoing educational initiatives are in place to promote workplace safety among your staff? > How do you assess your staff's usage of chemotherapy PPE? Let's champion a culture of safety and excellence in chemotherapy handling. #oncologynurse #nursing #nurseleader #patientsafety #healthcareleader #ChemotherapySafety #PatientCare #ContinuousLearning #HealthcareExcellence

A Brief History of Nurse Scrubs: From Past to Present Nurse scrubs, the ubiquitous uniform in healthcare settings, have a fascinating history rooted in practicality and hygiene. The evolution of scrubs mirrors advances in medical practices and the increasing emphasis on infection control. In the early 20th century, nurses typically wore white dresses with aprons and caps, symbolizing cleanliness and professionalism. This attire, however, was not designed for ease of movement or rigorous cleaning. The turning point came in the 1940s and 1950s with the advent of modern surgery. Surgeons began to don green or blue garments, which reduced eye strain and helped hide bloodstains, fostering a cleaner and more sterile environment. By the 1970s, these principles extended to nursing uniforms, leading to the adoption of scrubs – simple, functional two-piece outfits. Made from durable, easy-to-clean materials, scrubs became essential for minimizing cross-contamination and ensuring comfort during long shifts. The switch to scrubs also marked a shift towards gender-neutral workwear in nursing. Today, scrubs come in a variety of colors, patterns, and styles, reflecting both the individuality of healthcare professionals and the diverse environments they work in. Innovations continue, with antimicrobial fabrics and ergonomic designs enhancing both safety and comfort. Nurse scrubs have thus evolved from traditional white dresses to become an integral part of modern healthcare, embodying the profession's commitment to hygiene, practicality, and professionalism. https://lnkd.in/eBiPGkPe
