A critical aspect of modern commercial building is Sustainability🤝 We live in a time where being sustainable is the need of the hour, and being in a construction industry it’s on us to lead the way forward. The construction industry is responsible for a large share of global emissions, so embracing sustainable practices is essential. Science-backed building materials, such as eco-friendly concrete, biodegradable insulation, and nanotechnology, are transforming how we build. These materials minimize environmental impact, reduce energy consumption, and even improve air quality. Science-backed commercial building materials use principles of chemistry, physics, and engineering to produce materials that don’t have such negative impacts on the environment. These materials are typically eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and made from renewable resources. We know this is a change our future needs, and we are on our way to making it better. At Altima Millwork Inc., we're committed to incorporating these innovative materials into our commercial millwork projects, building a greener, more sustainable future. How are you protecting this vision? #Millwork #sustainability #construction

"The Future of Construction: Are You Missing Out on Revolutionary Materials?" The construction industry is undergoing a material revolution. Traditional materials like concrete and steel are now being redefined by cutting-edge innovations that promise to reshape the way we design and build. But are we using these advancements to their fullest potential? Take carbon-negative concrete as an example. Unlike traditional concrete, which is responsible for 8% of global carbon emissions, this innovative material absorbs CO₂ during its lifecycle, making it a game-changer in sustainable construction. Similarly, cross-laminated timber (CLT) is gaining ground as a renewable, lightweight, and durable alternative to steel and concrete. As green certifications become the norm, materials like self-healing concrete, recycled plastics, and transparent wood are leading the way toward a more sustainable future. What materials do you think will dominate in the next decade? Are you already using any of these innovations in your projects? Let’s discuss your experiences and insights! #buildingmaterials #sustainabledesign #modernarchitecture #innovationinconstruction #engineeringexcellence

183kgs vs 23kgs We've been working on several exciting projects recently and it’s been great to see carbon reduction questions are being asked at tender stage. Our aim is to find a suitable solution from our d2 composite range that not only reduces carbon emissions but also offers practical benefits for construction phasing while considering asset life maintenance and of course what happens at end of life. One particular project called for a massive pre-cast concrete lid, weighing a staggering 183kgs per plank. 🤯 We quickly discovered our d2 dura slab matching the same dimensions would cater for the load and required design life. Our d2 Dura Slab range boast an impressive strength to weight ratio, to give you an idea vs the concrete lid we are 87.7% lighter making them the perfect alternative for this application. But here's the exciting part: when we took a step back and looked at the bigger picture, the superiority of d2 Dura Slab in terms of environmental impact became crystal clear. Let's talk numbers. When it comes to transportation, using the concrete lid would require a staggering 99 vehicles. But by opting for our d2 Slab, that number reduces to just 12 vehicles. That's an astonishing 87 less artic vehicles required in this one project alone. 🤯 And that's not all. By choosing d2 Dura Slab products over pre-cast concrete lids, you'll enjoy additional advantages throughout the asset lifecycle. Say goodbye to excessive plant hires and the need for cranes during construction and ongoing maintenance. With our slabs weighing only 23kgs, compared to the burdensome 183kgs of the concrete lid, the installation & maintenance process becomes much easier, safer, and far less carbon-intensive. It's a win-win for both program efficiency and the environment. But we don't stop there. We're proud to say that our unique d2 composites are fully recyclable. At the end of their life cycle, these slabs can be responsibly recycled, minimizing waste and contributing to a circular economy. Check out the latest updates on our website to learn more about how we're making a difference. Together, we can make informed carbon-saving decisions that have a lasting impact. Contact us today to discover how our d2 products can revolutionize your construction projects and help build a greener future. Safer. Faster. Greener. Proven. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION INNOVATION Concrete is responsible for 8% of global CO2 emissions, and while it remains the most popular building material, we cannot quickly replace it due to the growing global demand for housing. For decades, researchers and companies have been striving to improve concrete's formula and reduce its carbon footprint. Despite their efforts, a universally easy, affordable, and implementable solution remains elusive. In 2010, Geoplast introduced New Nautilus, a recycled plastic formwork that reduces concrete usage by 20 to 30%. By integrating New Nautilus into concrete slabs—the largest consumers of concrete—we create voided slabs that are lighter and require significantly less concrete. These slabs not only lower the carbon footprint but also enhance safety. The best part about New Nautilus is its global applicability, offering a viable solution to reduce the concrete carbon footprint today. Learn more about sustainable construction and join us in this journey. Follow Geoplast S.p.A. for more innovative solutions. #ResilientTimes #R3SILIENT #innovation
