Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone to Build a New One After eight years in the pest control industry, from starting out as a Service Technician to serving as an Assistant Service Manager across five diverse branches : Tangerang, Bali , Cikarang, and South Jakarta. I’ve seen firsthand the power of stepping outside one’s comfort zone. Each transition to a new branch and adapting to unique challenges has been invaluable, not just for professional growth but for developing key leadership, mindset, and decision-making skills. Moving beyond what’s familiar and comfortable has taught me to approach each new situation with resilience, perspective, and readiness to lead through change. QC vs PRODUCTION: OFTEN AT ODDS? Have you ever heard that QC and Production frequently “clash”? Here's a little story from my experience as a QC Intern at Charoen Pokphand Food Division Company in Cikande - Indonesia, and perhaps those of you working in QC can relate to this. As you know, QC focuses on maintaining product quality to ensure it’s safe and meets standards. Meanwhile, Production? They’re more about chasing quantity to meet production targets. Sometimes, because of these different focuses, QC and Production often have misunderstandings. QC often says, 'Let's maintain production quality!', while Production might respond, 'But we need to hit our production targets!'. Despite this, QC and Production actually complement each other. They work together to ensure the product remains high-quality and production targets are met. So, even though they sometimes have different perspectives, QC and Production make an amazing team to maintain quality while pursuing product quantity.
