#GivingTuesday is almost there! Throughout these past weeks, we have emphasized how crucial our #humanitarian missions are to support the most vulnerable in #Ukraine, #Yemen, #Somalia, #Sudan, #Syria, #Bangladesh. We have also highlighted the importance of your support to enable us to continue our missions, thus concretely contributing to save lives. Still doubtful? For the series of the daily posts around the number ten, here are for you 10 reasons to donate to #MOAS. 1. Giving makes us happy “Giving to charitable organisations is positively related to life satisfaction. The more a household gives, the higher the household’s life satisfaction”. 🍉 Donate eSims for Gaza 🍉 Did you know you can purchase an eSimcard to keep people in Gaza connected, so they can communicate with their families and share what’s happening within Gaza? You buy an eSim online, screenshot the QR code you are sent and forward to a specified email address. This is a really practical way to support people in Gaza - it took me 5 minutes so please do the same. This video explains what to do and I'll put the link to the website in the first comment.

Any war is wrong on any side. The war is being felt right now by many women in Gaza; the land is about the size of one-35th as big as Sydney (12,368 square kilometres). Those with homes or families on the strip suffer inadequate access to clean water, electricity cuts and poor sewage conditions. The United Nations has called the conditions unhabitable. Emergency period poverty fundraiser: Lebanon Over night thousands in Lebanon have become displaced, fleeing to Beirut and the north of Lebanon to shelter. People rarely consider what happens in war to women on their periods. There is now a desperate need for sanitary products for those newly displaced. We have launched an emergency appeal to get disposable pads to those sheltering in the Bekaa Valley in the north. We will begin with a distribution to 1,000 of the most vulnerable women and girls sheltering in schools in Zahle. Strong communities are built on shared struggles and resilience! Just as the global body feels the pain of its parts. (Giving is the best gift) This simple birthday invitation shows the true power of individual initiatives. For her birthday, my friend Janneke Duister chose to make a difference, asking for donations instead of gifts for a community kitchen in Khartoum run by Mazin Alzain. Her generous friends raised + 500 euros, that made more than 330 family benefit from this initiative! 6 persons in avarage! In times of struggle, it’s all about the collective efforts of individuals, and every initiative no matter how small it may seem, can create bigger impact than expected.. How can you help? In a groundbreaking survey conducted by Blue State, it was revealed that the Muslim community in the UK shines bright when it comes to charitable giving. According to the findings, British Muslims exhibit unparalleled generosity by donating an average of £708 annually, a figure four times higher than their non-Muslim counterparts who contribute £165 on average. The data further highlights that 61% of Zakat donations are directed towards Islamic organizations, with 14% extending support to secular entities. Notably, a significant 75% of donors have shown solidarity with Gaza, with 49% expressing willingness to increase their contributions despite prevailing economic challenges. Delving deeper into the demographics, individuals aged 45-54 emerge as the most generous contributors, with an impressive donation average of £723, surpassing the UK baseline by a remarkable 6.5 times. Regional analysis also uncovers remarkable acts of kindness, as seen in areas like the East of England where donations soar to £1,127 compared to the national average of £215. Furthermore, the survey highlights that 35% of donors fulfill their Zakat obligations during the holy month of Ramadan, while 19% are inclined towards legacy giving, showcasing a steadfast commitment to philanthropy and community welfare.
