Hi everyone, I would like to get some suggestions on what we can do to tackle these 2 issues: 1. The stagnant water at car park especially after the heavy rain due to the gradient issue at car park. So far we only use the solution whereby we will ask cleaner to push the water into the nearby floortrap. But this matter takes time and time consuming. 2. Pets waste especially coming from cats at the car park area. We did ask cleaner/landscaper/security to catch it whenever they can,but they just keep coming since there are some nearby shops, residents giving foods and etc. Is there any service that offer to catch all the cats for one time solution? As the cats keep getting increase. Appreciate if anyone can share some input/solution on these matter. Thank you everyone.

When’s the last time you said thank you to your techs? I’ve always believed the technicians are the single most important part of the team. Think about it. In sales, we often make a lot of promises and of course do our best to deliver. But it’s the boots on the ground that make the difference during the entire lifecycle of the project. Throughout all phases of the project, they are hit with many variables and have to make adjustments to keep things moving forward. Many times, these small nuance things are what make a good project great. Often, the techs are the single most influential member of your team, since they interact the most with the other vendors, project supervisors and general contractor on the job. Even though the rough in will be hidden behind the walls and ceilings, the quality of this work says so much about the integrity of your company. Here, the techs are responsible for creating magic which often goes unnoticed. Towards the end of the project, their dedicated attentions to detail often make the difference in a problem free, final installation and then it’s on to the next one. There are so many examples where our technicians make a big difference, so let’s all say thank you to our most valuable teammates next time we see them heading out into the field.

HAPPY DAY to all of you! Thank you all for being wonderful humans that have supported me and opened themselves up to the changes I and others bring into the world. We are all beautiful and unique beings and without each one of us, the other doesn’t exist. Each day, I will celebrate and appreciate your beautiful life and energy by being the best human I can be. This is how real change happens in this world. The beauty is once we unlock this power within, the outside world will reflect and receive it. The more we use it and embody it, the more powerful it becomes and the bigger its wave. Upon reflection of today, I am choosing to celebrate another beautiful moment on this earth by sharing this reflection: How are you enabling the most value with your resources? A company is similar to a bunch of cogs (gears) working together to deliver a vision. Are you taking care of the “machine” so it takes care of you? Can the process be simplified? When I walk through the stores nowadays, I am amazed by the number of products for each category. The amount of effort that goes into each product from conception to consumer is huge. Is everything you are doing and putting into the product adding value (supporting you and your customers to be healthier, happier, and more resource efficient and abundant)? What we create is what we receive. Each one of these products comes with a sizable footprint. From conception and maintenance energy (hiring, training, development, investment, regulatory, documentation, sales, marketing, certifications) to ingredient and packaging supplies and storage, to spare parts and storage, to final product staging, warehousing, and distribution, and the sustainability opportunities that exist within each one of these stages. How much food is tied up S/C? Each time a new or enhanced product hits the shelf, it impacts all the other products in some way (from conception to acceptance). ✨ How efficient is your company’s machine currently? Are stakeholders part of your product and project rationalization process? What is the impact of your product or project on the world? I’ve witnessed that the “right” decision is the one that ensures a sustainable foot print. It is also the one that maximizes profit and creates a healthy work environment. Each decision within a company has a ripple effect on every other person. Are you aligning yourself to your company’s vision and goals with each breath? Sometimes this includes a regeneration period. When you invest in making the “machine” run, it runs itself and you can redirect resources to creating “new”. Have you ever tried adapting a machine when it needs some TLC (putting a brand new modification when the machine needs cleaning, alignment, and/or replacement of wear parts)? This can be correlated to new products or packaging. A strong vision, strategy, transparency, and aligned action board is a beautiful way to create a path for creating a well oiled “machine”.

Was just reading the foreword by Doug Tallamy...WOW! Here's a small sample... “Every once in a while, a book comes along that meets an important need most people don’t know they have. Sarah Jayne’s Nature’s Action Guide is such a book. Sarah could have called her book Conservation for Dummies—not that she wrote it for true dummies, but because she has identified a subject everyone needs to know but almost no one was ever taught: how to share our spaces with the natural world.” … “Sarah wrote Nature’s Action Guide as a complement to my book Nature’s Best Hope. My last chapter suggested 10 things homeowners could/should do to help share their property with nature. After reading my book, Sarah set about trying to enact each of these suggestions in her own yard but quickly realized that, even as an experienced gardener, she didn’t know enough to be successful. And if she didn’t know enough, many other budding conservationists were likely to struggle as well. Sarah’s solution was to write Nature’s Action Guide, a step-by-step, easy to use manual that explains how each of us, regardless of our background or gardening experience, can accomplish all of the goals I propose in Nature’s Best Hope, as well as several I only hinted at! Restoration biology is a relatively young scientific discipline a few decades old. Practicing restoration in human-dominated landscapes, in comparison, is in its infancy and we are still learning what works and what doesn’t work. One of its many distinguishing features is that Nature’s Action Guide is current, explaining state-of-the-art conservation in suburbia with the most up-to-date best-practices available. Even a half-hearted attempt to follow Sarah’s action items is guaranteed to improve the biodiversity potential of your landscape and thus the productivity of your local ecosystem. For this, we all owe Sarah Jayne our heartfelt thanks and gratitude—because, whether we appreciate it or not, we all depend on those same ecosystems.” Douglas W. Tallamy

The Broken Food System: A Call for Action Our food system is undeniably broken. Despite increasing awareness, we find ourselves facing dire challenges that threaten both our planet and our health. Over 80% of all arable land is dedicated to producing animal feed and oils, an allocation that starkly highlights the inefficiencies and unsustainability of our current practices. Simultaneously, we waste enough food to feed the entire African continent, showcasing a glaring contradiction in resource distribution. Biodiversity, both on land and in our oceans, is being depleted at an alarming rate, a consequence of industrial agricultural practices and overfishing. Coupled with this, rising global temperatures exacerbate environmental degradation, further threatening food security. Malnutrition, surprisingly the leading cause of death not just in the global south but also increasingly in the global north, underscores the paradox of our food system: abundance marred by poor nutrition. Central to many of these challenges is animal production. Last week's panel discussion underscored the urgent need for a more sustainable food system, focusing on the concept of a complementary protein shift. This shift emphasizes diversifying our protein sources beyond animal products to include plant-based and cultivated alternatives. The solutions exist, yet progress is hindered by polarization and political interests. A recent example is Italy’s ban on cultivated meat, driven by misinformation and special interest groups. This ban stifles innovation and the potential for more sustainable food options. Despite these obstacles, there are promising developments. Plant-based fish and other innovative protein sources present viable solutions for today and tomorrow. Our goal must be to extend this conversation beyond niche circles and engage the broader public. True collaboration and a profound shift in thinking are imperative if we genuinely want to create a positive impact for the future. In conclusion, the path to a sustainable food system is fraught with challenges but also ripe with opportunities. By embracing innovation and fostering collaboration, we can rebuild our food system into one that nourishes both people and the planet. A big thanks to my fellow travelers Francesca Gallelli Benedetta Caputi Roberta Gigante Stefano Lattanzi and a big thanks to Felippe Fontanelli and the Talent Garden team ;)
