NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi’s Post

Here’s a great aerial flyover video showing the progress we’re making on the O Mahurangi Alliance in Auckland. Some highlights this year include moving 780,000 cubic metres of earth, installing 295 metres of drainage pipes, installing 1216 metres of pipe culverts (the channels that help guide water away from a road), pouring more than 3000 cubic metres of concrete for the Wēiti River Bridge support structure, and placing the beams, pouring the deck, and installing the barriers on Duck Creek Road Bridge. In the flyover you'll see the progress on the future State Highway 19 alignment, the future Wēiti River Bridge, and where the road will connect in at Whangaparāoa. SH19 will be a new seven-kilometre road between Whangaparāoa Road and SH1 that'll improve the resilience of Auckland’s state highways and get people where they need to be faster, while supporting economic growth in the region and connecting people to new housing developments. Great to be part of this project, which will increase access to the growing Whangaparāoa communities. Thanks for sharing this excellent footage NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi
