An XL storage and handling solution for robotic trays! Storing and handling robotic instruments is no easy task, let us help you making things easier! As the trays are larger, they often hang over the edge of the shelf and the packaging tends to be more prone to cuts, tears and holes: they need a little bit more TLC. Which is why we are so delighted to (re)introduce the HALYARD* XL Trays! You may be familiar with the HALYARD* transportation tray: did you know that the polypropylene transportation tray is also available in an XL format (KL-1500XL)? The XL tray measures 69 x 43cm and fits the robotic optics trays. As a reminder, the transport tray is used for sterilization and storage of surgical instruments. The trays are re-useable and are designed for storage and transport within a hospital. The transport tray can be decontaminated in the same manner that surgical instruments are cleaned and reused in your facility. The approximate life of the tray will be 500 cycles or about 2 years. While we may not have tiny adorable WALL-E esque robots that we can send trundling down the lumens of our Power Max Shavers or Poole Suction Tubes to check for damage and bioburden, having fiberoptic inspection tools like a borescope in our MDR may be getting us closer to this kind of health science fiction. With more and more complex surgical instruments coming into our sites each year, I think as an industry we need to be constantly seeking out and innovating new tools for assessing clean vs dirty instruments. With the new borescope we have at our site, I have now had a chance to inspect shavers, hysterscopes, suction tips, orthoscope sheaths and everything inbetween. What an eye opening experience for me! Once you've seen where an instrument type consistently retains bone shavings or Muko jelly, you can attack how you clean that area the next time you reprocess one. Making sure we get every little bit of goo and gore off that tool contributes to making sure that every hospital visit at our site is safer one. If you've been following my posts, prioritizing patient safety and investigating new ideas are the things I completely geek out and this borescope is no different. I absolutely love it! In fact I've already asked our management if we can have a second unit for use in our hand wash station 😁 🤞. I would love to have a vertical flushing chamber at the side of my instrument sink for my lumened devices so I could fit those items onto a nozzle, close the case lid and let them circulate with enzymatic while I work on the other instruments.
